I moved from the area a while back, and I believed this location to be close to the beachdrag strips of the Atlantic and Pacific avenues, so I anticipated nighttime noise. My adult son and I went down to see a relative and stayed here in separate rooms. It is not a star by any means, but I would rather stay in a place like this anyway. Im not a star person. Our rooms were fine, the noise level wasnt terrible in the hotel or on the street, but it was janitor on the beach to be fair and we were absolutely comfortable. The housekeeping staff was fine with us not wanting our rooms cleaned till we left. We stayed for three nights. We had rooms next to one another and my newly engaged adult did not bother me with his young adult noise in his room to, music, food deliveries. Id most definitely stay there again. I dont expect to need to until an event happens, and I hope I can bring my cat with me at that time as it might or might not be an extended stay. I wasn't sure about the irons, safes, or hair dryers because I didn't need them and didn't notice or pay attention.

We spent five nights here with colleagues. We reserved a room that was roomy, with two large beds in the bedroom, sitting area, and dining table in the living room. The kitchenette has sinks, a fridge, a microwave, a onecup coffee maker, and a few cupboards, but no utensils, plates, or cups whatsoever. Why provide a room with a kitchen when you are also providing kitchenware? We had to purchase some bowls to make breakfast, which is not what you would expect when booking a room with a kitchen. Because our upstairs neighbors had such a hard party that they burst a water pipe in their bathroom, which caused water damage all the way down to the third floor. In the middle of the night, the hotel chief engineer woke us. At first my roommate did not want to open the door at all, the person outside did not have any identification. A security hazard is the elevators do not require a key card, so basically anyone from the street can enter and go up to the floors. The person checked our room and left, and after 45 minutes, when water began to see through our ceiling, we were moved to a smaller room. The change cost was not an issue. When we had planned to go there, the pool was broken.

I'm writing because there have been some poor reviews about this hotel. My daughter and I went for four nights in mid-july. We stayed on the second floor in a two-room suite. From the front desk to maintenance and housekeeping, all the staff were very nice and friendly. No problem changing our key several times. My rental vehicle battery went out, and a maintenance employee took his own car to help. Parking yes, it's a small lot, what would you expect on the water? I had to park around the corner after only one late night. No issues, it's a short walk away. Excellent location! Many restaurants and stores are accessible on foot. There is a spot near the beach, and if you want to rent a chair, there is a location without a walk away. We had a wonderful trip and would most definitely return.

The hotel is fine, but because they are trying their best, patience is critical. The rooms appear to have been renovated, but nothing has been done in the bathrooms. We didn't use it because the pool had a lot of sand on the bottom the entire time we were there and the water was cloudy.

The staff was so friendly and helpful. The room was spacious with the perfect size. The VIEW OF THE OPEN OCEANS was magnificent. You can sit on the balcony and forget the world.

The service was excellent and I want to say that the manager Paul and the employee Lee are great people who care. They were understanding and kind when I had a problem with my reservation. We will stay in a hotel with people like this operating everything anyhow.

If I ever stayed at this hotel again, I will be there again. The room was lovely, clean, and we could open the door and pretty much step on the beach. But I was requested to provide a genuine drivers license. I had just applied for a new one after losing mine, but I had a picture of my original license. Nevertheless, jimmy the desk clerk would not accept it and told me I couldnt stay there without his original license. I then asked if he could use my boyfriends license. He agreed, but after changing his mind, he stated he had my license because I had reserved the room. He told us we could not stay without my license and he couldnt refund my money because I booked through expedite and they would have to refund it. I was about to talk to him, but he called the manager and then took my license and boyfriends license. There is no housekeeping. You must ask for it before 300 pm or take your own towels and washcloths from the front desk. It was a nice location to stay overall if you want to spend a few days on the beach. Customers coming in behind us also had some trouble checking.

This hotel is more of a cheap motel where prostitutes and drug addicts live. It was ok in the room. The room had a mini fridge, microwave oven and single-serve coffee maker along with a few coffees, but the coffee was awful. They must have obtained the cheapest coffee they could get their hands on so don't waste your time using it. Go to a cafe or a restaurant for coffee. Yes, there was a bath, but they removed the tub stopper, so if you were traveling with small kids like I did, you could anticipate taking showers with him. At first glance, the room appears clean but the floor was dirty and sticky and there was litter everywhere. Because the parking lot is so small, if you drive a large vehicle such as a tahoe or suburban or a large vehicle with a trailer, you should go somewhere else. If we ever visit virginia again, please avoid this motel.

The location is perfect, right on the sea. The rooms are spacious. The bed was comfortable. I slept with the sliding glass door open all night. Two chairs and a small table were on my balcony, perfect for watching sunrise in the morning. The shower had good pressure and hot water. The front desk was friendly when I had questions. My one complaint is the parking lot. The spaces are so close together and so tight that it can be difficult to park safely without hitting another vehicle. The hotel was clean and mostly updated. Breakfast is available in the morning, but it is very expensive.

The ocean 27 hotel is a great hotel with amazing staff. The ocean 27 hotel owners are the best I have ever seen in my 30 years of serving in the navy! The reception staff does a great job!
