I strongly advise this place. Over the Christmas period, my wife and i spent a wonderful time here. The location is unbeatable, right between grand central station and brittany park. The staff is among the friendliest and most accommodating in the industry.

The location is great, right on the corner of 41st and madison. The hotel is also quiet. The staff is great, like julian and billy, who are very helpful. The rooms are small, but the design is good and comfortable. The rooftop terrace is beautiful, and the lounge on the second floor is great. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and wellstocked with fruit, snacks, and a freshly made coffee machine. I would stay at the library hotel again in, well, a new york minute. Highly recommended.

I would definitely stay again. Comfortable, discreet, excellent personnel, and a convenient location. I cherished the lounges beverages and snacks. The restaurant next to the Madison and Vine restaurants was excellent. One minor drawback was the low water pressure in the shower.

The library hotel is conveniently situated between brookly park and grand central station, both of which are only a short stroll away, and is near to two subway stations and two of the three coach usa bus stations that connect Manhattan to newark airport. Its a lengthy, narrow historic structure with a total of 13 stories and a lovely facade with art deco elements. Despite its excellent location in midtown, the hotel was conveniently quiet despite being on the 12th floor, lower floors might be more affected by traffic noise. The hotel is themed around books and libraries, as well as the hotel rooms. Ours included books on Asian religions. The reception is to the right, and the restaurant is to the left. On the second floor, a lovely reading room can be used as a guest lobby. Coffee, tea, soft drinks, granola bars, and fresh fruit are all available free of charge, which is a very nice touch. On the top floor, which is actually the 13th floor but labeled as 14th floor because 13 is an unfortunate number, a rooftop bar offers stunning views of nearby buildings. Drinks are served from 4 pm, but the rooftop terrace is accessible 24 hours a day. Our deluxe room was on the 12th floor and included a comfortable queen bed, an en suite bathroom with a bathtub that also served as a shower, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion, and bathrobes. The window could be opened, which we appreciated, but the room also had air conditioning. Despite the window, the room was quite dark, which we didnt mind at all. Apart from the convenient location, we enjoyed the reading room and rooftop bar most. The hotel has many nice little touches, the staff was very friendly, and our room is well maintained.

I cant say enough good things about this hotel. We received the most amazing customer service from the moment we checked in until the second we checked out. We stayed for christmas week and at checkin, the receptionist helped us get the most spacious floor plan within the room category we booked. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff was excellent. Unfortunately, my husband got sick 4 nights during his 6 night stay and we had to check out early to go home. Arman, the front desk gentleman, helped accommodate our request for an early checkout and was genuinely sympathetic to our situation. I travel to new york every christmas and will always stay at the library for all my future visits. Thank you to everyone who works at the library! Great customer service is rare these days, but your staff is top notch! Some reviews comment about the small size of the rooms. As someone who visits nyc frequently, the room size is comparable to any other hotel in the city at the same price point.

The staff at the library hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean, comfortable and in a great location for us. We enjoyed the lovely reading room for coffee, tea and snacks, and the Bookmark lounge rooftop bar for drinks and cheeseboard with a beautiful view.

I really couldnt have asked for a better hotel to stay at. Will definitely make it my top choice when in town. Best stay in nyc ever! I tried a few different hotels in nyc and came across the library hotel in my search. It doesnt help that i am a librarian, so adding to the need to stay. I was happy with the location and how close it was to grand central station and the coach usa bus stop. Which allows quick travel to airports. Check in was fast and friendly and the front desk staff answered my questions easily. My room was very comfortable and perfect to relax in after a long day. Bookends bar upstairs was the perfect place to hide in a nook and take a break. And Maison and vine was a great place to start the day.

This hotel is very nice. The staff is very kind. We came there because we wanted to visit a rooftop before leaving nyc and this is close. They were very kind and allowed us to attend an event if they were busy with an event. The small terrace is very comfortable!.

I apologize because this review is from a visit in july 2015. It took me a while to get around to it due to work commitments. Okay so our eldest daughter had reached her grand old age of 18 and before starting uni, she decided to spend 6 weeks in nyc with her mate, olivia. The wife and i got engaged in nyc in october 1991. While she was having a great time, we all worried and eventually decided to fly out for the weekend and surprise her. I booked through united airlines and looked for a hotel, found the library and was intrigued. So booked us a suite. Arranged with the youngest daughters school to be released for an educational visit, and off we toddled. When we arrived, we were greeted by very polite and friendly staff (called librarians). Our suite was amazing, with a view of madrid avenue. The free cafe area was the best idea ive ever seen in a hotel. We had a great time at the library and in nyc. We even met president obama in central park. So its amazing, you wont be disappointed.

I might have never stayed at a hotel before where i didnt have to pack my own tea. Excellent service all around, and delicious food and drinks at the hotel restaurant and rooftop bar. I will definitely be returning to explore some of the other themed rooms.
