Roomy room! Felt like new. Was concerned by the looks of the checking in spot; looked kind of beat up. But was pleasantly surprised by the sleeping room and the motel in general.

Jen and her husband, who run the Mushroom Cap, are really nice and interesting people. Jen went the extra mile helping me with an unexpectedly late check-in which was very much appreciated after a long travel day. My room was large, well-equipped, and spotless. Will definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. Easy 5 stars.

Omg, where do I start....very very nice staff & adorable pets. Small older town with not much to offer but my room! New remodeling...new comfortable bed and amazing pillows. Spacious, very clean! Wifi password immediately available another tv stand. Nice balcony and scenery. Most definitely would stay here again!

Family owned property that they made me feel at home. Rooms appeared refurbished to new with very comfortable beds, strong AC, very clean rooms. I travel a lot and spend 80% of my time on the road and would easily return here again. This is a hidden gem. Better then Chain hotels.

The hotel is a smaller motel in a small town. It has been updated and the rooms are great. Sorry cute area. Has a pavilion, a place for a bonfire and a grill. Staff was super friendly ! It was close to many places to visit along Lake Michigan. I would recommend this motel if you are in this area.

First time here and it was great! Check-in was fantastic. The lady who checked us in was super nice and very helpful. The room was huge and super clean. The a/c was great! No elevators in the building, but wasn’t a bad stair climb.

A perfect alternative to much more expensive Traverse City. The property was very recently completely updated: flooring, furniture, bedding, bathroom, towels, frig, microwave, coffee maker, TV etc. It felt like we were the first to use the room ever. Nice and quiet due to concrete walls and ceilings. I’d stay here again in a heart beat.

Our room was definitely updated at some point relatively recently...newer carpet, updated bathroom. The room was pretty clean and didn't have any "oders" that one might expect from a "motel". Beds were OK, typical firmer hotel beds. No issues with anything, really. Office personnel were friendly and helpful.

I don't normally leave hotel reviews unless a stay is exceptionally good or exceptionally bad. Unfortunately, this is one of the worst hotel experiences I've had. We stayed over a holiday weekend and didn't arrive until around 1:00 a.m. I appreciated that the hotel accommodated our late arrival by placing our key in a lockbox. However, we couldn't get into our room because the door handle was loose and improperly installed. There was no one available to assist guests after 9:00 p.m., so we were left figuring it out ourselves. At a minimum, there should be an after-hours emergency contact. The hotel appeared to be recently renovated, which was a positive. Unfortunately, the bed was the hardest mattress I've ever slept on. I understand firmness is subjective, but these beds were beyond firm. They should consider a pillow top to please more guests. My final disappointment came at checkout. No one was at the front desk, and after waiting several minutes, the owner's daughter said her mom was at the U-Haul next door and couldn't say when she'd return. I found it odd that no one was available during normal checkout hours. While I appreciated the renovations and convenient late check-in, they didn't make up for the poor maintenance, lack of after-hours support, extremely uncomfortable beds, and disappointing customer service. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.
