We had a fantastic 4 night stay at the Royal Kona Resort. From checking in to checking out, it was a great stay. All the staff were all very helpful, very polite and always smiling. Our room (419) was very clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The best part was the outstanding view and just to be able to hear the waves crashing against the shore. Such a restful and relaxing sleep. I used the well equipped gym regularly. A good range of CV, fitness machines and dumbbells. As well as having a nice pool, the Royal Kona Resort has a lovely little beach/cove area, for sun bathing, swimming and snorkelling. We ate a couple of breakfasts in the restaurant. What a great breakfast menu. The food tasted lovely and again, lovely friendly staff. As there’s so much choice locally, we went out for evening meals. Prior to staying at the Royal Kona Resort, we’d had 3 nights over in Waikiki and visited the North Shore beaches. They were lovely. But the local beaches around Kona were outstanding. Some reviews mention the Royal Kona Resort being dated. Whilst to some extent it may be true. But the hotel clearly states it’s undergoing renovation (this didn’t in the slightest negatively impact on our stay). Again, the Royal Kona Resort is very clean and full of character. We would definitely go back and without hesitation, recommend the Royal Kona Resort to stay.

Amazing staff and the breakfast was incredible at the onsite restaurant. Highly recommend the getting the breakfast and specifically the fruit platter. The macadamia nut pancakes and breakfast burrito we do delicious and filling. Eat right next the the crashing waves it was just an incredible experience.

We stayed 3 nights and the Royal Kona is close to shops and restaurants. The property is showing its age and some areas are under renovation. Staff were helpful and baggage and valet staff were working their tails off.

The people were very nice and very helpful. They even have a person that will arrange tours for you. The hotel has everything you will need. Short walking distance from restaurants, farmers market and other shops. When I come back, I will stay there again.

When I checked in, I told the front desk clerk that I was just in town for work and didn’t particularly care about views and the like. I was there alone. To my surprise, she put me on the top floor in a corner room that had remarkable views overlooking the ocean on 2 sides, with large glass doors that opened to the outside. This setup afforded a “wrap around” balcony, the likes of which I’ve never seen up close. Room had cold water supplied every morning in the fridge and a cute coffee maker with delicious, fresh coffee “packets.” How nice ! I enjoyed my day immensely. Oh. The food in the restaurant was exceptional as well. I had a couple breakfasts while there
