There's so much to like about the place, starting right at check-in, which was brief. As we were ready to go upstairs we were offered a bottle of water, or a glass of champagne. Champagne, of course! Nice touch. Walking into the room was a delight. There were seven big, clean windows with shades controlled by switches on the wall. So cool. The view up and down Woodward was big-city dramatic and glamorous, especially at night through all that clean glass. The room was very large. There was a king-size bed with lots of room around it, a desk with a short divider that defined the seating area beyond that turned the large room into something of a suite. The long couch was complete with a soft afghan, and an upholstered chair facing a large flat panel TV which had external bookshelf-style speakers perched on the cabinet below. In front of the couch was a large upholstered ottoman for sitting or for stretching out your legs as you watched TV. The toilet had its own little room, leaving the bath tub and shower a few steps away in their own tiled space. The shower had a ceiling-mounted disk that dispensed rain nicely, as well as a hand-held wand that sent its stream out with good pressure. There's no shower curtain, just plenty of room. We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Shinola. It's by far the nicest and coolest place we've ever been to.

Loved the design and style of the hotel. Location was prime, San Morello was elegant and had great options for breakfast and dinner. Also, the valet guys were awesome and made getting in and out a beeeze!

We had a beautiful suite on floor 7M!! AMAZING!! Only 2 rooms on this floor. Breakfast was delicious and go shopping at the Shinola store you won't be disappointed!!

Our stay at the Shinola Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived for Opening Day weekend, the atmosphere and attention to detail confirmed why this is the premier spot to stay in Detroit. The room was everything you could want and more—impeccably designed, incredibly comfortable, and stocked with the high-quality touches that the Shinola brand is known for. It truly felt like a luxury home away from home. Beyond the beautiful aesthetics, the staff was great across the board, but we want to give a very special mention to Gina DeBruyn. The level of service she provided to my wife and me was absolutely world-class. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and memorable, treating us with a level of care and professionalism that is rare to find. Between the top-tier service from Gina and the perfect accommodations, the Shinola Hotel exceeded all of our expectations. We can’t wait to come back!

This was our first experience staying at Shinola although we knew about the hotel's reputation as a premier property in Detroit. It was just a one-night stay, but we had an incredible experience. I had reached out in advance sharing it was a special occasion celebrating an anniversary and babymoon. I didn't expect much but I believe we were assigned a more spacious corner room and received a very sweet hand-written letter from the staff, along with a bottle of sparkling juice and some chocolates - all hand-delivered by the very friendly and charming Samuel. We also visited San Morello and the Evening Bar (mocktails), both were equally awesome experiences. The room was very well appointed, clean, and quiet. The overall ambiance of the hotel was very charming and we would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended!
