The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room, though small, was quiet and clean, along with the rest of the hotel. I have already recommended it!

The location is near Chinatown, and we have a lot to do in the evening. The decoration of room is Chinese style, but room space is a little bit small. The bathroom is nice.

Located where China Town, Japan Town and North Beach all converge. Excellent choice if you want to enjoy Beach Blanket Babylon. Surprisingly large rooms for San Francisco - and very clean too.

The room was big and clean in an area in between Chinatown and north beach and close to lots of attractions. Though expensive, it was much cheaper than other hotels not too far away. Free breakfast and wifi.

I needed to find a hotel nearby the financial district where I was attending a conference (but the conference hotel was sold out). The SW Hotel fit the bill -- only a 5 minute walk from the Hilton Fin. District -- and very affordable. I have stayed here before, so knew what to expect, but other first-time visitors might be pleased to know the SW Hotel provides a welcome, peaceful respite in the midst of the hubbub of some of San Francisco's must-see attractions.

I was very pleased with this hotel. It's in a great spot, walking distance from most locations if you pack the right pair of shoes (I walked to the Embarcadero, Coit Tower, Union Square and Market St). Travelling alone, I quite liked the China Town location, which was always well-populated and non-threatening. It's also very authentic and interesting marketplace, a tourist destination in its own right. As well as the endless Asian food on offer, there are also some nice Western restaurants and bars nearby on Columbus St, as well as typical pub fare and takeaway food. I was here midweek in winter, and it was very quiet. I hardly saw another guest, but the staff were always available. The complementary breakfast was simple and good: various breads and spreads and cereals, with fruit and boiled eggs, tea and coffee. If you want a big fry-up, though, you might have to go all the way across the road! My room wasn't huge but big enough. I slept very well in the bed. The bathroom had a vintage look but was immaculately clean: not so much as a speck of dirt anywhere in the fittings or grout. It was small but pleasant to use. Overall, I was very comfortable staying here and couldn't ask for more at this price. My only gripe was that the hair-dryer didn't work.

This is a perfect 3-star hotel - I've stayed in many in central San Francisco and this is the one I don't hesitate to recommend to others.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The staff was friendlly, the rooms were unique in the japanese decor, and very comfortable. The only issue was parking. We didn't plan ahead, and the hotel parking lot was full.

Great location . We walked to Tomoso's for dinner and listened to street musicians on the way back. The room was quiet and the bed comfortable.

I had to say that my trip to San Francisco was great. My wife and I stayed at the SW Hotel in Chinatown/North Beach which was the perfect location for our first visit. We were within walking distance to Pier 39 as well as Downtown Union Square. The Hotel was small, quiet, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was absolutely worth it as we got to splurge on other things in the city! I'll definitely stay here again. Thank you to the staff at the SW Hotel!

I was here on business for a week. The Hotel is situated 4 blocks from the trans america building and at the edge of Chinatown. The other side of the street is little italy. The hotel is quiet and is well taken care of. The beds are a little hard. The only downside is that one block away is the heart of the strip clubs/ gentlemen s clubs. If you are into that then it won't bother you. You can walk different paths to avoid it. Fisherman's Wharf is a 20 min walk thru little italy. Lots of good restaurants around.

I had a nice experience at the Sw Hotel. The room and bathroom were very clean and the hallways and ambience quite pleasant. It was quite a treat to walk through Chinatown in the morning and evening back and forth from my conference at the Moscone Center.

I chose the Sw as a lower cost option for business travel that put me close to the Financial District. The Sw is sort of "no frills" but was very clean, had a good mattress, and passable wireless network. I like that it was a reasonable walk to meet my business needs and good restaurants were easily accessible all without having to cab it everywhere.

Rooms are comfortable, clean and functional and well priced; perfect given that we were only there to sleep, shower and enjoy breakfast. Surrounded by great restaurants which ever direction you walk. A really central location for Fishermans Wharf, China Town, Little Italy and Union Square with great public transport close by.

I was looking for a good value hotel in Chinatown. This place was great: very clean, modern, and very well situated at Grant & Broadway. It was very quiet !! Breakfast was not much to speak of, but who cares? I would definitely go back here & would definitely recommend the SW Hotel to anyone who wanted a reasonably-priced, safe and clean stay in Chinatown.
