Great place, modernized yet still kept some of the old world charm! Initial issues with the air conditioner, but they were quickly resolved by John! We enjoyed the stay!

You have to experience this “hotel!” We stayed in the Tesla room. Really cool decor, great room amenities, skylights, beautiful shower with a window inside. Definitely coming back!

We stayed in the Edison suite for a girls' weekend (5 of us, but 6 would have been comfortable too). It was an amazing alternative to a standard hotel as everyone was able to be together the entire time and everyone had plenty of space. The top bedroom is really cool and you can see Elfreth's Alley from the windows. We will be back the next girls' weekend for sure!

Parking is always a challenge in Philly but we found easy street parking to unload and a nearby garage for overnight. The hotel was easy to find and well marked with address, lamp, and logo. Beautiful room and very spacious bathroom with tub and shower. The room was well appointed and the Nespresso for in-room coffee was much appreciated. We were in the Adams suite and it had a very small sitting area so not really suitable for remote working. Not a problem since we weee playing tourist for the night. Very affordable given the amenities and size. Hope to come back in nicer weather to enjoy the patio. Will stay again.

Easy to book, great pre-arrival helpful communications, easy self-check in, exquisitely gorgeous room, bathroom and amenities, quiet, right in the heart of the historic neighborhood and easy self-check out. Nice little courtyard to drink your coffee or plan your day. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the Gas Lamp Hotel.

Beautiful place to stay. There was a slight mixup and someone else walked into our suite after we had already arrived, but the staff took care of it and apologized profusely.

Decently-sized, clean, comfortable room with all the basic amenities and fluffy towels. I would only caution any visitors who will struggle with stairs to be sure to get the room on the ground floor.

The place was unique . Small boutique hotel . Very clean and nicely furnished . Our chief complaints were the bed was very soft and sunk toward the middle ... may be time to get new mattress . Also we didnt like the virtual lock situation at all . Reception in the building made us have to try at least 20 times until room was unlocked . Other than that it was a pleasant stay .

We designed rooms, great location, responsive staff. Good value for the price. Could use better instructions on the remote check in/ locating rooms. Carrying suitcases up the stairs is a little tricky. Parking is far enough away that it’s inconvenient to carry your things.

We really wanted to love this boutique hotel because the location is perfect for visiting family, and we hoped it would become our go-to place for our twice yearly trips. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several important ways. We arrived late in the evening and immediately struggled to enter the property because the entrance key pad was not illuminated, making it nearly impossible to see the code in the dark. We had to contact customer service to remotely unlock the door for us. Once inside the room was extremely cold. Another call to customer service informed us the heat is controlled remotely, and thankfully they were able to resolve it. The biggest issue during our stay was the lack of basic amenities and responsiveness. We were provided with only one set of towels for our 3 nights stay. We called customer service twice requesting additional towels, but none were delivered. As a result, we were forced to reuse damp towels for the entirety of our stay. While we understand and appreciate the aesthetic of boutique hotels, several standard conveniences were noticeably missing. No luggage rack, dresser or closet space, leaving us with nowhere to put our luggage or clothing other than the floor or bed. The kitchenette supplied us with 2 mugs and 2 martini glasses. No dish soap to wash them. Overall, the property may work for a one-night stay, but for a multi-night visit, the lack of comfort, amenities, and follow-through made the experience disappointing.

I wanted to rate it higher, but there were too many small discrepancies that added up. First, the TV didn’t work - wouldn't even turn on. Next, while I appreciated the well-stocked Nespresso pods, sugar, and creamers, there was no spoon or anything to stir with. Then, the ceramic cup in the bathroom still had water and orange mildew in it. Lastly, there were several ant traps throughout and, sure enough, there were a few ants around during my one-night.stay.

Super hot, couldn’t change the thermostat, so many steps and just was tiresome, no parking.. it was fine but I wouldn’t stay here again.
