This is a family-run property and you can feel that in everything! The staff is welcoming, the public areas are beautifully appointed with period furniture and artifacts from the inn’s history, and the storybook setting right on the banks of the river can’t be beat! The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The one thing I wish there were a bit more attention to is the balcony furniture - it would have been nice to have a more comfortable chair and little table for morning coffee.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the inn. Super friendly staff. Great food and drinks. The owner is attentive and made sure we were enjoying our stay. Clean, safe and quiet room.We would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

We loved the Wayside Inn. A lot of charm in an old house with so many great features! Our room overlooked the river, there was a real claw foot tub in the bathroom! We had dinner there and had a table beside the water as well as a prepared breakfast which was included in the stay. The owner recommended an excellent ice cream place down the street which was phenomenal! We would stay here again !!

First, the location & price were right. Second, there was a guitarist/vocalist at dinner. Love that. Dinner was homemade & delish. Everyone was welcoming. Room was spacious & we slept WELL. Breakfast was included, delish, & in the bright & beautiful restaurant by the Amanoosuc River. The only very minor improvement I could suggest would be more lighting in the resto after dark. We'll happily be back!
