El Dorado has a new lodge that is even remoter. The old lodge is no longer being utilized, and they intend to make it a coffee shop. Deep in the Santa Marta Mountains, deep within the Santa Marta mountains, is this lovely oasis. Complete with fivestar accommodations, unrivaled views of the Santa Marta valley to the Caribbean coast, and birds youll only encounter here, you must be determined to find this location. Near every turn appear to be long, windy, and dangerous roads with a family motorbike. The road becomes even more narrow thanks to small, but potentially deadly landslides. The last two miles are a wheel drive road. Its no joke. Fourwheel drive is required. We rented a 4 wheel drive SUV, but it wasnt really the right vehicle for the road. We attempted it but frequently fell out. A highscored toyota land cruiser is recommended. In the lodges sitting area, they offered us all the food up and down the stairs because the kitchen is on the bottom floor and the eating area is at the top. In the sitting area, we stayed in nobis, the round huts above and below the new lodge. Id have to leave this location for a minimum of three nights. For only two nights, it takes a lot of travel. The birds, scenery, and

Is the time spent riding a $3,000 ex-taxi down a steep dirt road well worth it? You bet it is. One of the worlds finest locations has to be this one. On one side, on a clear day, you can see the snowcapped mountains of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and on the other, you can see the Sierra Nevada mountain range, and at night, the lights of the town of Ciudaela twinkle in the distance as you ascend over a slope down over the Caribbean coast. The days were almost entirely sunny when we arrived there in late january, but if the clouds were passing beneath the property, they would flow over the ridges and descend into the valleys like waterfalls. After the ovenlike conditions in Santa Marta, it was a great relief that the air is cool, even though the sun is hot. For experienced birders, there are endemic species living here, but even more specialists, this is a truly wonderful location for birdwatchers, frogs, snakes, frogs, giant insects, and all sorted of magical nature. From the property, there are several paths that lead up, down, and along the ridge. The longest route runs up the hill to san lorenzo ridge, and then back down the dirt road that axis can travel up, so

Overall, it's a unique and highly recommended stay fully immersed in nature! I spent 2 nights in a Kogihab in an El Dorado family of 3 and it was a great experience. The Kogihabs are amazing and offer a very unique experience. The staff is friendly and the service is excellent. The reserve offers well-defined routes to explore flora and fauna.

We stayed here for three nights with a spouse and our 2-year-old kid. The uphill ride is incredibly hard and well worth it. We are avid nature lovers, but we don't know much about birds. This location is especially fantastic for bird watching. But we had a great, satisfying experience. The organization is genuinely committed and doing its best to contribute to the local economy, uplift and value indigenous knowledge, and protect the environment. Our child nearly died of a bug upon arrival, so it was the greatest place to unplug, recharge, and unwind. The 180-degree view of the room was stunning and was enough to keep us entertained most of the day. We stayed in Kogihab 5, which is suitable for toddlers. Sit in the restaurant with a 360-degree view, snow-capped mountains in one direction, and turn the other way to see the sea. Samantha was an incredible manager and host, and ruben was equally as helpful with addressing our needs. The walks around the property are well-kept and immersed in fascinating natural history. For the season we visited, I wish we had more cozy and chilly rainy gear. Thank you for a great stay.
