The whole experience was wonderful. The location of the property is very close to the train and bus station.The walk streets are very close as well. The staff is fantastic , knowledgeable and very kind. Foid was delicious. We stayed 3 nights and wished we could stay more. We will be back:)

Last minute trip to Takayama and was lucky to find this ryokan near the JR train and bus station for a two night stay. We enjoyed the ryokan, public Onsen on 1F and daily breakfast (definitely worth the additional fee). The town was fun to walk around with great restaurants and shopping. We took a bus ride to Shirakawago. Fun day.

Delightful small Ryokan. Very polite and solicitous staff, we were learning the Ryokan experience as we went. They encouraged use of traditional yukata and offered women the opportunity to accent theirs with a small bow. The room as clean and they brought the bags up, while we changed into slippers. Very comfortable futon and the tattoo friendly Onsen was absolutely delightful.

5 stars +++. This is one of the most wonderful properties I have ever stayed in. The people, all of the staff overly friendly, so courteous, so helpful, I hope to return one day and stay at this property. The food at breakfast is delicious, the servers were impeccable, reception and check-in was great, the location is super convenient. It is a safe property, quiet, clean, what more can I say? What a perfectly lovely stay. This was not tbe most luxurious place that we stayed at in Japan but the one we enjoyed the most . This is a traditional Japanese ryokan - so you sleep on mattresses on the tatami mats on the floor. The traditional table seating is also at floor level. Hard on those knees 😄the reason we loved this stay was the staff. They were so super helpful and there were so many thoughtful touches everyday in this place, it truly felt like we visited family - the kind you enjoy visiting ! The private onsen on the 5th floor was nice as well. Loved our takayama visit and this stay rounded out the town perfectly!

Very friendly staff in this Ryokan. Japanese and Western breakfasts were excellent quality. Comfortable futon and bedding. Used the private bath with additional cost, though not mineral spa water. Still an enjoyable experience.

Absolutely exquisite stay! Everything was perfection - from the check in with green tea, to the delicious Japanese style breakfast, to the friendly and attentive staff. This stay comes with so many extra amenities such as free yamata rental, complimentary sake, public baths etc. Also excellently located close to the station. We felt relaxed and at home our whole stay. It was genuinely one of our favourite stays in the whole of Japan. Special shout out to Karen who went over and above to help me try and get through to my airline to change a flight!
