The openair adjoining room offers a spacious feeling of space and showcasing pristine views. It exudes comfort and relaxation, creating calming atmosphere. The food and beverage offerings are both fresh and delectable, enhancing the overall experience. Staff members are courteous and patient in providing explanations. I look forward to staying here again on my next visit.

We spent one night here in a room with cypress bath. This was incredibly beautiful traditional ryokan, conveniently located near the bridge. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. For those who prefer more privacy, there was also sen for private use. Overall, i had an excellent experience with attentive hospitality and service.

We had a great stay and would recommend it if you are looking for authentic food/ ryokan experience with some extra budget or anniversaries to celebrate. The room is pricier. However, the service and meals provided are satisfactory. This is my second visit to arashiyama and i have stayed at this particular hotel.

Simply one of the most memorable stays you could have in kyoto. The structure may appear old, but it adds to its charm. We had a spacious room with ion garden. It offered what ive considered to be the best panorama of entire arashiyama district. This place is higher than any other structure in the area and has sweeping views of rivers. Our beds were the softest weve ever slept in. In general, it was incredibly enjoyable. There is an outdoor bath in every room. A separate room for the controls is provided. Other ryokans may have outdoor bathrooms, however, nothing compares well as togetsuteis outdoor bathroom on the third level rooftop. Staff members are extremely helpful and friendly. Even carried some of our luggage to our room, the young lady who showed us to where we were going for dinner explained. Around 5 staff members assisted us in dressing up before we left for supper. You can eat directly next to the river, and the complimentary breakfast was varied. They served tamagoyaki, which was unforgettable. Overall, he had an excellent experience worth the price.

The location is a bit far, but the food quality is good and the water is natural springs, however only one pool is free and all other pools must be paid for.

After visiting japan for many years, this was my first time staying in a ryokan. It was truly unforgettable. From the attentiveness and attention to detail from the staff to making you feel very welcome and valued, to the comfort and atmosphere of the rooms, down to its subtle scents of tatami mats and wood. The meals were elegant and an experience in and of themselves. A public onsen bath is included, and you can reserve i booked if you want to have reassurances. We also had nauseous bath in the room. Overall, fantastic, im so relaxed.

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon in japan and absolutely loved it! The food was delicious, the traditional beds on tatami mats were very comfortable, and the staff were amazing! A bit of a walk from the station (15 minutes from saga arashiyama) may be difficult with luggage, but the views in the area are well worth it. Will return in feces!.

As of 1 March 2026, changed local tax regulations require guests to pay accommodation tax at updated rates, which will be collected separately by the property during the check-in process. The tax is determined by the room rate and is charged per person, per night, as follows:

For room rates less than JPY 20,000: JPY 200   
For room rates from JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 500   
For room rates of JPY 50,000 or more: JPY 1,000  

【Accommodation tax from 1 March 2026, onwards】  
For room rates less than JPY 6,000: JPY 200   
For room rates from JPY 6,000 to less than JPY 20,000: JPY 400  
For room rates from JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000: JPY 1,000   
For room rates from JPY 50,000 to less than JPY 100,000: JPY 4,000 
For room rates of JPY 100,000 or more: JPY 10,000   

For the purposes of the accommodation tax, the term “accommodation fee” will refer to the room-only rate, excluding any meal charges and consumption tax.
