I can't say enough about this hotel and the employees. It is the heart of Bairro Alto area. We rented a car, and there is a central parking are about a 3 min walk (uphill). You can not drive on the street it is located on. We were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. Prior to arriving, I exchanged several emails with David and Diogo about the property, parking, and suggested nearby restaurants and activities. It is unbelievable the amount of time they spent answering my questions. They genuinely care about you, and want you to enjoy their hotel and city. When we arrived, David spent about 20 mins showing us the hotel and it's amenities, chatting with us, and answering all sorts of questions we had. He lastly showed us to our room where they had prepared a tray with a chilled bottle of champaign, chocolates, and a beautiful anniversary card. We stayed in room 7. The hotel only has 7 rooms. Our room had a large veranda with access from the bedroom and bathroom. They serve a fabulous breakfast each day at 8 am. On our first morning we were heading out early for a tour in Sintra, so we couldn't make breakfast that day. However, when we mentioned we weren't going to be able to make breakfast, Christine made us a lunch bag the night before and placed it in the fridge for us to take with us. The next morning we were able to enjoy breakfast at the community breakfast table. Diogo made us breakfast, and we met some of the other guest. Book here. You will not be disappointed.

Best hotel we’ve stayed at! Staff was amazing, welcoming, helpful and excellent made to order breakfast. They would help book things and we could message anytime during our stay and they would help us. Cozy little deck to sit and have a drink at the end of your day.

The property was unique in a great way and very comfortable. The historic nature of the property and the thoughtful updates to it made the stay special and much more meaningful than staying at a chain hotel. The staff (Diogo, David and Christina) were so kind and caring and truly went out of their way to make us feel at home. They were also a wonderful resource as we were learning how to navigate Lisbon. I would 100% recommend this hotel. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Lisbon. Thank you LR Guest House team for being so unexpectedly delightful!

A fantastic welcome awaits at the LR Guest House. An old property converted into rooms in the heart of Lisbon. I was there only for 2 nights attending a conference but it was perfect for my needs (although there was no ensuite, I had my own large bathroom a few steps away, dressing gown and slippers provided). the most impressive aspect were the managers, they were very friendly an I felt that they cared about their guests. On arrival, David welcomed me with a coffee and a slice of cake from the oven. Wonderful, as was the communal breakfast. Not mega-luxury but so comfortable and felt like the guests were made to feel special.

The staff absolutely make this place - they couldn't have been any kinder or more helpful. Room was very comfortable and breakfast was tasty. Honor bar, snacks, great location - this place has a ton going for it. It is one floor up with no elevator, if that matters for you.

Urlaub bei Freunden! Familiäre Atmosphäre beim Frühstück, frisch zubereitet. Jeden Tag ein anderer frischer Kuchen. Tolle Gespräche mit dem superfreundlichen Team. Lage: mitten in der Partyzone von Lissabon, trotzdem ist ruhiges Schlafen möglich. Linie 28 in unter 5 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar.

Our recent stay at the LR Guesthouse was fabulous. David, Diogo and team did a terrific job - everyone was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is small and quirky but has a great homely type feel and is well located for everything one is wanting to do in Lisbon. Highly recommend and would stay there again.

Had an absolutely amazing stay. We had a wonderful room that had a lovely private patio. Breakfast was made to order, and always excellent. Plus there were always snacks and sandwiches, plus a nice little bar area. Everything was complementary. You could just leave some money if you wanted. The staff was beyond wonderful. They had a ton of suggestions for things to do, places to eat, even arranged for transportation to the airport. I can’t imagine we would ever consider staying anywhere else while in Lisbon.

The best part of our stay here was the exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The property is located in area that is easily accessible to sites and transportation. The only down side is the street noise at nights.
