This peaceful and picturesque historic building complex is located just off a major road in Guamaraes, close to everything you might need. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, quiet, and have breathtaking views of the gardens and countryside. Jose the manager is incredibly kind and helpful, making sure everything is well. We even got fresh bread and croissants delivered to our door every morning. My wife and I stayed there for 5 nights and loved every minute of it.

We enjoyed the stay at the Villa Margarita because we really enjoy it. You will never meet a host who is genuinely passionate about his home and garden. Jose took us around and took us through the gardens and past. The Villa Margarita is stunning, and our lodge, the Rhonos, was fantastic. The house has a beautiful, modern bathroom and kitchen, but they are still very old. Every morning, fresh bread and croissants were brought to your door and Jose had leftover breakfast supplies in the fridge. Throughout Guavaes city center, the Villa Margarita is a sanctuary of peace. The historic center is fantastic and colorful. I would definitely advise staying at Villa Margarita and exploring Guavaes. Besides that, they also serve good food, croissants, fresh bread, and croissants to you.

We have been staying at Villa Martina during our family's trip to Portugal. In actuality, it is a family-owned historical residence, which has recently undergone renovations, and the interior is new. Anything you would desire is available to make you feel at home. They have an old garden with a variety of plants that have been thoroughly taken care of. The location is very peaceful and quiet, but also close to the city center. Our greatest advantage was having the chance to meet jose, who was a wonderful host to us, and they, together with hugo, made everything simple and accessible to us. I would recommend villa margarita for any guimaraes trip.

This is one of the most stunning locations. The location had served the host family for over 500 years and the original part of the owner's house is still 100 years old. The place where visitors stay is newly built in a separate area of the estate. There are many units with varying numbers of rooms for different groups of groups. We stayed on two levels up in a walk. Everything I needed was there. Nothing to complain about. Despite being of recent vintage, some of the rooms' stone walls are probably quite ancient. I see drill holes in some and repaired mortar in others. The surrounding gardens are great and a wellknown portugal historical garden. The owner jose is more than happy to explain the history and explain the entire place. Jose is very helpful. A truly wonderful person to meet. We even had wine tastings of his vineyard. Drinking wine in the afternoon sun and facing the lovely garden is an amazing experience. Try it, and you will not regret it.

A slice of heaven on earth. An objective review must highlight the one thousand years history, the lovely historical gardens, the magnificent collection of camellias, or the beautiful renovated villas. Each of these alone would be worthwhile, but when they are brought together by the finest and kindest of hosts who are prepared to go out of their way to make you feel at home, I'm afraid TripAdvisor hasn't yet created a scale that captures it.
