I vastly underestimated this place. Clean, well maintained and an unbelievable location. Fantastic views on the front porch and sensational trails nearby. It's a hidden gem for sure.

The lobby was a beautiful place to visit and have a drink! Our room was lovely and well cleaned and the bed was very comfortable. The staff at the reservation desk were very kind, friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely return!!

This place was a wonderful surprise! We’d stayed at a couple of not as nice properties the two nights before, and didn’t know what to except here. As son as we pulled up to Spearfish Canyon Lodge, we knew we had lucked out. The setting is gorgeous, and the lodge is very welcoming. It is beautifully decorated, and the ladies at the front desk were so nice. I was going to put that the one negative is that there’s no ice machine, but the folks at the pub are so accommodating in filling up your ice bucket. So I have nothing negative to mention!

Great place if you’re looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Deadwood area. It’s the first time we’ve stayed at the lodge and it’s a pretty cool place. The beautiful scenery of Spearfish Canyon on the hiking trails right from the doorstep of the lodge is a must see. the Latchstring restaurant has awesome food no matter what you order. I’ve been to the restaurant a few times over the years while snowmobiling and it’s never disappointed.

Fantastic lodge in Spearfish Canyon. Views are fantastic. 4x4s for rent next to lodge. No elevator. No continental breakfast. But the restaurant across the street was fantastic!

Great place to stay & really wish we had stayed more than the one night we did stay. Area is incredibly beautiful, great for hiking or scenic drives. Some trails leave directly from hotel!! We were gone for 10 days, stayed in four hotels & this was everyone's favorite!!

We loved our night at Spearfish Lodge. It’s the most adorable property. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable. There are several trails you can access from the property. Our grandson learned to play checkers at one of the tables in lobby. Loved that they had a fire going in the evening and morning. Dinner at their restaurant across the street was delicious and the cinnamon rolls we bought to go were amazing. Great place to stay!

The lodge and all the workers were very respectful, helpful and attentive. They made our stay (7 nights) amazing. The Latchstring restaurant had wonderful and tasty food. We ate breakfast everyday and had several dinners and ate a variety of starters and entrees. All very delicious! There was a stream behind the lodge with lots of fish to either watch or catch and several cool trails with amazing sites. If visiting the Spearfish, Deadwood, etc area, then I highly recommend a stay.

Gosh... I can't write enough good about our stay at Spearfish Canyon Lodge. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. We were close to the hot tubs (which we indulged in because they provided super thick robes). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were greeted with fresh cookies when we arrived. The lobby is cozy and warm and a great gathering space for evenings or groups. Several options for hiking right on the property. Close to other areas for hiking (and waterfalls). Just under 90 minutes from Devils Tower. Close to Spearfish and Belle Fourche
