I had booked Great Lake Hotel as an overnight stop between Strahan and Hobart. I made a mistake and booked Great Lake Hotel one night earlier than our actual arrival time. The staff and Great Lake Hotel were extremely accomodating to our situation (we were known as Room 7, since that is the room number we were supposed to have used on the previous night), and allowed us to stay in Room 3 with no extra charge. We had a good dinner at the restaurant while our room was prepared. After dinner, we had a nice conversation with the a person we assumed to be the owner. What could have been a disaster turned into a story with a happy ending. Room 3 was pleasant enough, with a nice view of the lake and a comfortable bed for a good night's sleep.
