The hotel is in a charming, historic building. It was a spacious double room with a balcony. The mattress is quite cozy. The bathroom is spacious and the toilet is separate, which I suppose is pleasant when you have more guests in the room. Showering in a bathtub is not what I enjoy, but it's fine. For some reason the showerwindo did not keep the wather in the tub, which made the showering in a bathtub a little challenging. The entire bathroom floor was submerged. Luckily, I had some spare towels to dry the room. The hotel has a broad wellness program it seemed lovely, but the sauna wasn't hot, and the steamboat was hot, so I enjoyed that two times. There is a little swimming pool as well. Breakfast is served buffet-style and was great. A little peculiarity was that I didn't get the friendly warmth feeling I expected from such a family-run hotel. Let's be honest, the service was good, but I missed that extra smile.

Our bed was so spacious, and also clean. They also provided many channels for German and Austrian. Then, the ambiance here was so fantastic. After that, they served me with good food. Subsequently, the breakfast was nice and plentiful. Besides that, the staff here were so nice, especially the son that was so friendly with his English and the man who helped me with everything we need.

I stayed in this hotel for work but it is more of a tourist hotel. Location is very pittoresk and the building is nice from the outside. The rooms are like a suite with modern furniture and a very good bathroom. Breakfast was also good.

The two-star restaurant's excellent location, which I acknowledge in other reviews, is ideal for traveling in order to get away from it all. However, I didn't believe it had Austrian four-star standards, or a kitchen worthy of two has. The management may believe their interpretation of romantic works well for the almtalhof, but I've also been to fourstar hotels in Austria and ate at haben restaurants. The Almtalhof's proprietors, in my opinion, are overly dependent on their customers' willingness to accept their version of romantic and therefore overthrew what one should anticipate for high-level hospitality at a fourstar hotel and two haben restaurant. I wasn't as quick to give them such a pass, thus causing my overall poor rating. Reading on for details is the best. A fourstar hotel, in my opinion, guests shouldn't be able to park on the street. The owners' vehicles and container units have taken up a fair number of hotel parking spaces. Guests shouldn't need to turn on the sauna and lights in the wellness area more than an hour after the posted opening time. Even when relaxing there, I had the impression that I was intruding on the owners personal area. The reception staff should point out the elevator and cart to assist with moving the luggage, although courteous. When checking, guests shouldn't have to wait at least

We stayed at this lovely hotel a few years ago and couldn't wait to return. This is a lovely hotel next to a crystal clear brook, with beautiful antiques and special collections. The dining room is very pretty and the food at both dinner and breakfast was great. Our room was quite dark and poorly lit, the carpet was very worn and needed to be replaced but the bedspread and drapes looked much fresher and the small bathroom was spotless. I read previous reviews in German, some of them in German, about the friendliness of the owners staff. I assumed these reviews were written by a nasty competitor hotel, so we decided to stay based on a beautiful visit we had a few years ago. After many unanswered emails, I finally got a response on the romantic hotel website. Although I do speak some less excellent, but do so with a smile german, we felt snoozed at this hotel from the time we checked in with the owners until we left. This hotel was quite empty so they definitely had time and opportunity to appreciate our business. Just a smile or a simple danke would have been nice. Or even a bonk at the desk when you walked by. Unfortunately, even though this is a beautiful property, I would not stay here again due to the chilly reception we received, and I sadly had to give it a bad
