I wish they would bring back the amazing breakfast buffet they used to have, and it was very affordable.

The room and the entire property was very clean and manicured. The staff were all friendly, from the valet and bellman to the bartenders and servers. The ambiance by the pool in the was very calming.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was great! The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the private beach was beautiful and very relaxing. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay. The only things I didn’t like were that breakfast was not available, and the beach didn’t feel completely private. Since cruise passengers use the walkway nearby to reach the public beach, there are many people passing through the area. While I didn’t have any problems, it made me feel less secure leaving my belongings unattended. Other than that, everything was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The oldest continuously operating hotel in Nassau, The British Colonial Hotel is steeped in Bahamian history. Originally opened in 1901 as The Colonial, the initial wooden structure burned down in the 1920s. The present structure was rebuilt in six months and reopened on January 7, 1924. The hotel has passed through several changes in ownership, at one point a Sheraton, at another, a Hilton. Most recently, it was purchased by a new management group and underwent significant and historically conscientious renovations in 2023. The hotel is beautiful, impeccably maintained, and exquisitely furnished. The location is convenient to downtown Nassau and the cruise port, and the private beach is quiet and pleasant.

Great location, clean, friendly and beautiful beaches. It was pricey as far as food but it was all worth it.

Everything was lovely. We had a great time. The bed was hard, but the hotel was fantastic. I would stay again.

The Colonial British Hotel was outstanding! The service and the hotel itself were both A1. From the moment we arrived, the doorman made us feel welcome, and the hospitality was exceptional throughout our stay. The restaurant was amazing—my kids loved it so much they wanted to have dinner there almost every day. We had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend for anyone coming to enjoy the best the island has to offer - walkable to all downtown Nassau shopping and sites, including the Queens Staircase (about 25 minutes, but not a difficult walk), the Straw Market (5 minutes), the Pirate Museum (5 minutes), and the Fish Fry (about 20 minutes). The beach is small, but felt secluded. My kids (12 & 13) loved being able to switch between the beach and the pool. We were usually able to snag a few chairs in the shade, even when we moseyed down after noon. All personnel (poolside & tavern servers, doormen, front desk, and housekeeping) were amazing: friendly, attentive, and promoted the overall chill vibe of the island, helping us to fully relax. We had the most wonderful time! Thank you all for making it great!

Great staff, rooms look kind of dated but it is an old building. Restaurants were the cleanest that we saw on the island. Would stay again!

It was a new experience for me. It wasn’t what I was used to in a hotel. The only thing is I had to ask for face towel but other than that it was top shelf

Overall, my wife and I had a great experience. The location was excellent, with everything within walking distance of the downtown area, making it easy to explore the city without needing a car. One of our favorite parts of the stay was the view of the cruise ships at the port. We enjoyed watching them dock in the morning and depart in the evening—it was a unique and relaxing experience. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient location with great views.

Our four-day family stay was excellent. The hotel is in a great location. The facilities were very good, and the cleanliness and service were excellent. I would stay there again. It is in the best part of the island. My only recommendation would be a more varied menu in the restaurant. I recommend the hotel 100%.

Everything was everything!!! I’ve already review this place once then we decided to extend our stay because our first day at a different hotel was the most unpleasant hotel experience that I’ve had.

This was a great location. Close to everything that you might need for downtown. My only feedback is that we called the front desk a few times, they were friendly but not helpful. We asked for change , they only had for a $20. We asked about water activities in the area and they also could. It help.
