According to Federal Law nº 8.069/1990, minors under 18 years old cannot check into hotels unless they are accompanied by their parents or an official guardian (proved by original documents). If a minor is accompanied by an adult other than his parents, it will be necessary to present a written authorization to check into the hotel. This authorization must be notarized, signed by both parents and presented together with certified copies of the parents' identity documents and the child's original documents.
