We are so lucky to have found Maison Groleau in Mombrier which was the perfect place for my daughter and I to stay for a couple of nights while preparing for her forthcoming marriage in Bordeaux.The house is absolutely beautiful-decorated and furnished in a very modern,stylish way,set amongst the vines with stunning views everywhere,extremely comfortable bedrooms,delicious freshly prepared breakfasts which changed each day and the option of enjoying a fabulous gourmet dinner at the house on prior reservation.The owners Guillaume and Pierre-Louis made us feel very welcome and we are very grateful to them for looking after us both so well.It was a magical stay which we will remember with great fondness as part of the whole French wedding experience.A truly hidden gem which we thoroughly recommend and hopefully we will be able to return in the future!Many thanks :)

Experience exeptionnelle, tout était parfait : les hôtes sont hyper pros et sympathiques. Nous avons eu la chance de partager avec eux un repas avec leur table d'hôte dont la qualité n'a rien à envier à certaines belles tables. La maison et les chambres sont décorées avec beaucoup de goût, c'est vraiment une merveille. nous avons hâte de revenir y séjourner !

Guillaume and Pierre were great hosts for my wife and I as well as the other couple we were travelling with. We stayed with them for two days and wished we could have stayed longer. The Maison Groleau is a beautiful property and decorated with attention to detail. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfasts were great and served with passion from a hospitality perspective. We requested dinner for the four of us with a few requirements and Guillaume made an exceptional culinary menu for us to enjoy. The pool is a nice addition to a relaxing stay. The hosts are super nice and had lots of recommendations for us to discover. Thank you to the hosts and my wife and I highly recommend Maison to all.

Helt underbart ställe. Om man vill äta deras underbara mat, Måste beställa middagsmat 24 timmar innan om man vill ha lagad mat. Man kan alltid få ost kall mat. Det är två killar som har stället, lagar mat och tar hand om er. De har bara tre rum!

What a lovely place to stay. Maison Groleau is the most beautifully decorated house and the bedroom we stayed in was a delight with plenty of space and spotlessly clean as was the whole house. Pierre and Guillaume are the most perfect hosts. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer to sample Guillaume evening meal, but if the breakfast was anything to go by this would be an experience. We would highly recommend anyone to stay here. We'll definitely be back during one of our long return trips to Portugal by road. Thanks Guys.

As a VERY seasoned traveller in Europe bot for work or social, I come across a variety of "hardly try" establishment. This Maison Groleau is just the opposite: Trying hard and... delivering expectations. Superb site but not vulgar flash, superb rooms and very friendly welcome by the owners who will literally go out of their way to please! One example only: Evening plane into Bordeaux was very late. I told them so and the reply was "do not worry, we will wait for you"... We arrived just before midnight and so they were; even even offering us a beer to refresh our miserable selves... Highly recommended!!! Jeff Duval

This beautiful chambre d’hote is an absolute must if you’re traveling to/through this area. Set in lovely countryside and it’s own vineyard, the glorious building doesn’t disappoint when you eventually enter!! Tastefully decorated, with an eclectic mix of modern and traditional pieces, with public areas shared with the owners. We stayed in ‘Pin’, a beautifully decorated double room with a huge comfortable bed and views over the vineyard and countryside. The owners, Guillame & Pierre were welcoming and we chose to eat ‘at their table’ in the evening. The food was exceptional and we drank wine from their vineyard. This is a ‘must do’ if you stay there. Breakfast was also delicious with many homemade items.

A cosy and beautiful hotel with nice rooms and a garden with a nice pool. The coupe who owns the hotel is very friendly and service minded! The meals are homecooked and delicious. The vine is local and the sorroundings are beautiful. We highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful restored house with the most amazing hosts! The interior is a personal eclectic mix of old and new and the breakfast and dinner were fantastic, all locally sourced and from their own garden. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and at home! Highly recommended!

The property itself is very nice. The room was clean and nicely set up. However, the owners could be more helpful. I arrived at 2:15 pm, exhausted, after 37 hours of traveling. I asked if it was possible that our room was available. I was told in no uncertain terms that check in was not until 4 pm. I then advised the owner of my exhaustion and asked if we could wait on the loungers by the pool, which were completely empty. I was then told that there would be a 20 Euro fee for this. I thought this was inhospitable and insensitive and spoiled any good vibes for our stay.
