This is a family owned hotel for many generations. The location is a short walk from the lake, and has a great view of it (from upper floors at least). It was great to watch the owner interact with the German guests during our fantastic home cooked dinner. Even without understanding a word, I could tell they were happy to be there. As a non-German speaker, I had no trouble talking with him in English, but was jealous of the fun the others had. The menu is one choice of what they are making for the day, but it will probably be something good, and well priced. The room I had was comfortable and in great shape. Some items are older, but that is common for these smaller hotels, where they furnished the rooms with quality, and the items do not wear out just because they are no longer as fashionable. As someone traveling alone on business, and having one free day off, I valued the family feel of this hotel to feel a little less a stranger in a strange land, even for 24 hours. Especially good if you like whiskies of all kinds. The bar seems to be an excuse for the owner to collect and sample whiskies.

I enjoyed my 4 days on this trip. The price was also worth it with the facilities. The lake, tegernsee, and the large room were so comfortable. The place was so clean and comfortable with a comfy bed. Across the street were wonderful fireworks from the New Years Eve celebrations. We took the bus to Truth to hire ski equipment for the kids to ski. The location is also strategic, only walking distance from the bus stop. The bed was comfortable and spotless, plus the location is close to the water taxi stop.

The location is excellent, and there's parking available on-site. The owner's family has been running a hotel for many generations and has made us feel at home.

We had a good time today and had a good time as it was close to the lift. The elevator is old and quite noisy, even our room is pretty noisy, so we could hear it from the lift. Not so special about the bathroom.

In June, I stayed at the aseania hotel and had a wonderful experience. When I arrived, the proprietor, Herr Kong, visited, but I couldn't locate my reservation. For some reason, the application booking system requested a reservation for April 2012! Although it was a hectic summer vacation weekend, herr kong saved my weekend by getting me into a single room with a wonderful balcony and lake outlook! The hotel is several hundred meters from the Tegernsee lake and a comparable distance from the Bad Wessex town center, where numerous eateries can be found. If you don't feel like going out, check the menu board since the hotel offers a fixed-course dinner as well. The location is near hiking, boat rides on the lake, boat rentals, bike trails, and so on. The cleanliness and character of the rooms is minimal. As evidenced by the selection in the bar in the sitting parlor bar, Herr Kong is a devotee of Scottish whiskey. Overall, even after my initial mistake of using a different date and year!.
