The Hotel Platengarten is within walking distance of the rail station and has many restaurants nearby. The host was exceptionally accommodating. Our room faced the main road and was very quiet and comfortable. We did not hear the traffic. Breakfast was available every morning with many options to choose from. We would stay again.

Really nice hotel in the center of town. Breakfast was excellent. The room was large and well appointed, even if a little dated. There was a fan which is very rare in German hotels, but very helpful when it’s hot. Parking (on site) can be tough due to its location. Close to the train station as well. The staff was wonderful.

Our hotel here in Ansbach was amazing. We were given a corner suite that overlooked the square with a castle view. The windows completely opened to the sounds and gentle breezes of the town. The room was filled with antiques and unique lighting. There are only 24 rooms here that once were the rooms for the Consult's royal cavalry. The quarters had a carriageway between the quarters and offices but presently has been brought together as the hotel entrance and reception area. The breakfast room is classic European with delicious food. Room 15 and this place is special indeed.

My wife and I spent one night at the hotel platengarten in Ansbach in March 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is a short walk from the Ansbach Huf and faces the city square. Our clean and well-appointed room was actually a small suite with a foyer, sitting room, bedroom, and bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and the furniture was traditional German. Our room looked out into the busy town square, but it was still peaceful. Frau safer attended to every need and planned a tasty and diverse breakfast buffet the following morning. The only reason we didn't give our stay a 5 was that the bathroom light was a little lower than our aging eyes required for shaving and applying makeup. If we visit Ansbach again, we will definitely go back to the hotel platengarten. Ansbach is a beautiful Bavarian town with many easily accessible restaurants and shops.

Very charming! Every detail is thought of here but the architecture inside and outside makes this place really special. The staff are kind and helpful. Special bonus is the great Indian Restaurant across the street. Perfect for a romantic get away.

The staff here is always amazing! I needed to extend my stay and they were very helpful in moving things around to make room for me. I have stayed here numerous times, and only stay at other hotels when this hotel has no availability. In my opinion, this is the best hotel in the Ansbach area!

The location is convenient, the service is amazing and there is a big bathroom at the hotel, it gives an old world charm, and the rooms are really good. The breakfast served here is also excellent. We have only stayed for one night at the hotel der Platengarten, but we have a wonderful experience.

We remained in Ansbach because we visited there for a year about 49 years ago. We had the good fortune to return with our son and daughter to accomplish one of our bucket list items. We intended to spend a few days here on our journey to bring back wonderful memories. The wallpaper, lighting, and furniture in this hotel really took you back in time and brought back wonderful memories. The bathroom is updated and stunning. Our kids assigned us the king and queen room. Although it is on the promenade, it is fairly crowded. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent and traditional German fare, with delectable breads, meats, fruit, jams, cereals, and yogurt. Our American breakfasts are comparable to German and Austrian breakfasts. This hotel is a short walk from the beautiful park and the old town, which is steps away. Anyone visiting Ansbach should stay at this hotel because we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Staff is extremely helpful and caring with wife in wheelchair. We stayed in a cottage in the courtyard for two nights. Wife liked the idea of her own space. Hotel is walking distance from train station on direct route without twist and turn. Walking into the old town is basically across the street.

This hotel was lovely. Its position is exceptional because it is both near the train station and in the heart of Ansbach. Three families were visiting town. The hotel is beautifully furnished, and the most helpful and kind employees are employed. Our apartment had a view of the orangerie and was very spacious. It was hot in Ansbach, but the apartment had three windows that opened, and the cross breeze was fantastic, making it incredibly cozy. I adored that they also had a fan in the area. There was also a couch in the room, and the beds were comfy. There were a wide variety of breakfasts, and when necessary, it was always fresh and replenished. Also excellent service. Let me gush about the employees. My husbands rusty German was welcomed and helpful. One of the days we were in town was on vacation, and they called to find us a restaurant that was open. Our 97-year-old grandfather came to say goodbye and guide us to the train station on the final day, and they allowed him to eat breakfast with us without a second's hesitation. Avoid hesitation when visiting Ansbach!.

It was great, apart from the check in, we had to wait for 30min till the lady showed up. Apparently they still have limited times of the desk hours which is not great when you travelled all day and need to wait. Apart from that everything else was perfect, very nice stylish hotel, awesome location (city center). The breakfast was fantastic and the staff very very pleasant.

Wir waren nur eine Nacht dort. Es war alles prima, ist halt ein älteres Gebäude - wer schalldichte Türen etc. möchte, sollte dort nicht buchen. Für uns waren die Kopfkissen unbequem. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und liebevoll angerichtet, der Kaffee in der Tat sehr gut!! Die Lage ist sehr zentral.

Das Hotel strahlt einen gewissen, leicht morbiden Charme aus, was aber einschliesst, dass einiges renovierungsbedürftig ist, wie z.B. die Dusche in der Badewanne. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und die Matratzen ebenfalls.

Very old building heating wasn't working it was cold. No staff availability most of the time. It took a while to call them until someone came to check us in. Parking is challenging. Location is great. I will not stay again.
