I stayed at the Kola dear branch, which is usually completely full, and they suggested this option. Last week, I stayed here for a few days. Chennai is still in a sort of lockdown, and the service apartments are on the main elliot beach road, which is barricaded! So it was a little surprising for the system to do roundabouts with the barricades, asking police permission, etc. just to enter! So yes, in case you are traveling with seniors or children, call the service apt ahead. I literally was the sole resident for three nights, which was a bit strange at first, but I really enjoyed having everything in there! So here are some positives. Excellent location. The terrace and some of the rooms have an uninterrupted view of elliot beach and it was fantastic the service apt was kept tidy and clean, the rooms were comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and working. As it isn't a hotel, you will need to ask for service by Tamil, and Satyr was good and responsive, but it was not working. So if you want to cook or prepare meals, you might want to check in ahead. Kola should add an electric kettle, for those who want to make a quick tea or something. Breakfast options are reasonably limited, but the sambar, chutney, and curries generally tend

In general, I find it a good option in the elliot neighborhood, given that the area is quite residential and you dont have many good hotel options. I usually stay at the Kola Dear branch, but it was all booked and suggested this option. I stayed here for a few days last week. Chennai is still in a sort of lockdown, and the service apartments are on the main elliot beach road, which is barricaded! So it was a little shock to the system to conduct roundabouts with the barricades, asking police permission, etc. Just to get in! Yes, if you are traveling with older people and children, please call the service apt ahead. I literally was the only resident for 3 nights, which was a little odd at first, but I had great fun having all that room! Here are some suggestions for things to do. Excellent location, the terrace and some of the rooms have uninterrupted view of elliot beach, and it was great that the service apt was kept neat and clean, the rooms were comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean and functioning. Since this is not a hotel, if you need your room cleaned, etc, you will have to ask service by Tamil and Satyr was good and responsive, can be improved while the service apt had a microwave, water dispenser etc, gas connection etc not working.
