I was upset upon check-in that my locally living friend was not being allowed to stay as my guest, but that's a policy that many hotels have there, it seems. Finally, he was allowed to stay. Otherwise, everything was perfect..Very nice and helpful staff, great breakfast buffet, and perfect location within New Market. The hotel was nicely decorated, as well.

Very nice hotel room with professional managed staff who even explained the fire escape plans when we checked in. But other wise also, very neat hotel with excellent interior design, professional staff and centrally location. Highly Recommended.

Staff were helpful. Food was very good. Location was very convenient but a bit difficult to find. So happy it had a lift. Beds were comfy. Shower was great but did not stay hot for long. I'd definitely return to this hotel. A bit expensive, but so much better than many Kolkata hotels I've visited!

There are times when the adventurous spirit needs rest, the comfort of one of the best beds in India, excellent service of Management and Staff, relaxation and then still, some excitement - this type of stay is very hard to find unless you book this true Gem of Kolkata ! Rickshaws, the hustling bustling New Market and S.S. Hogg right outside our window, a beautiful extra clean suite equipped with bath to soothe our achin' adventurer bones, AND by far the best main access-point to all Kolkata destinations (and others within India) is just a little of what our stay at the Sapphire was like :) Some great hotels have insincere staff that can place dampers on what should be a sunny experience, but not here! We're lucky, our days have been so bright! You will do yourself a favor by booking here now :)

My stay here was excellent. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was great and the rrooms were modern, clean and well looked after. The location was in the heart of the very busy market area, which meant there was everything you need close by. It did tend to get a little noisy in the evenings but died down by a a reasonable hour. Highly reccomened.

What a lovely new hotel with very friendly staff. I stayed for a week and didn't want to come back as everything was available just outside including restaurants, money exchange shops (with very good rates), bars, nightclubs, clothes shops, shoe shops, etc. The room itself was nice and big for a standard, (not that I minded) flat screen TV on the wall and the best thing was my bed was next to the window overlooking the whole of Newmarket which I loved looking out every night. Didn't have any breakfast as I slept late every day as the bed was very cosy and the air conditioning was adjustable in the room. I would advise anyone going to Kolkata to try this hotel as great value for money and deserves two thumbs up! I look forward to going back to this hotel soon.

The services I've had on this hotel??? I didn't get it from those 5star hotels that I been through in different countries. Never expected this kind of services from a 3star hotel really.!!! Good food, nice/clean room and very accommodating and friendly staffs. You will feel at home...two thumbs up for me!!! Hurray

# Location # Clean # Good Staff Behavior # 24 Hours Food # Best WiFi to work with laptop and mobile. # Good Deal Price. This is are the best i found in this hotel after check in. I would like to suggest this hotel to everyone best in town and best to stay for your shopping around the area. Only thing i didnt like is that they didnt have controller working nicely for the air condition its too cold and chilling so i have to switch on and off all the time to adjust as per my requirement which made my health a bit uncomfortable. They also didnt provide any facial tissue even after i ask the house keeping. So i have to buy my own. REst no more complain the hotel is best and i would like to stay there in every visit to kolkata for shopping.

ニューマーケットのすぐ横、歩いてパークストリートまで行けるし、とても便利だった。部屋は清潔でモダンに改装されている。朝ごはんにパランタやオムレツ類を注文で焼いてくれるのだが、メティ・パランタとヨーグルトがとても美味しかった。また利用すると思う。

We had a pleasant stay! Only drawback is the surrounding neighbourhood which is not at all clean and fully crowded! The restaurant was very good! The location is perfect! The Esplanade metro station is within walking distance! Overall nice stay!

This is an odd hotel and a bit of a wolf in sheep's clothing: although it markets itself as a 4-star boutique hotel, there were frequently moments when I was reminded of my backpacking days way back when. Avoid the rooms on the first floor -- especially those in which the door faces the noisy lobby. The location is phenomenal if you want to experience the heart of Kolkata and the fittings are generally nice, although the decor feels as if it's trying a little too hard to be modern.

It wasn't the most upscale of places but gave me everything I wanted to make it a hassle-free time in Kolkata. The rooms were modern and clean and the services was good (I had asked them to hold onto my luggage for an extra half day as I was touring the city and they helped me fetch a cab too). The juice upon arrival was a nice touch as well. The only slight downside is that the neighborhood, was right next to a super busy market and was going through some slight renovations at the time.
