During our week of skiing, I really liked it. The hotel is near the town center, the breakfast is nice and the owner is a nice person. The rooms are Japanese style, and the bathrooms are on the same level, making for a relaxing start. There is no common area, just the breakfast area, but there are lots of good bars nearby. I will definitely come back!.

A short distance from Chu bus station is it. You can locate it using the map from the Nozawa onset busier. It is compact and cozy with shared toilets and washbasins. One door that can be locked from inside. Breakfast is provided. The room has a heater. The Yoshindo Walkalator and Yusawa Shrine are both a short walk away. The walkalator leads to the hokage slopes and gondola where there is a kids area to practice skiing with the help of two magical carpets, which are very helpful for beginners.

Although I had a map, I didn't see a sign for chochinya in English, and I entered what I assumed to be the location, which turned out to be someone's private home, I really startedle the owner who has just woken up from his nap! My room at chochinya was traditionaltatami mats, a table with seats, a to, and a futonfor sleeping. I could hear the hot springs trickling down the streets because the windows were open on both sides of the room for fresh air. It was peaceful, but there were no proper type of pillows or seating for me to rest comfortably at night after a long run of hopping and walking. But nothing is comfortable for long as I'm in my is! A to would have been preferable as a small fridge. The bathroom's awful smell in the bathroom was my only major gripe. The japanese breakfast was heartysoftboiled egg, vegetables, steamed rice, a piece of perfectly fried fish, miso soup, ok coffee and tea. The family who runs the guesthouse is kind and gives you the freedom to come and go as you please. Even though it seems somewhat expensive for a basic Japanesestyle room where toilets, baths and sinks are shared, the hotels in Nozawa seem to be quite expensive compared to what

I chose this lodge after having a tatami and sukai reservations because it is situated in the very strategic location which is 5 minutes' walk from the bus stop, 10 minutes' walk up the escalator from the ski resort, and half a block from the main road, which has nice bars, restaurants, cafes, and stores. I booked it last minute, but they have a discount lift ticket deal for Nozawa Oval ski resort, so it's better to purchase at the lodge, especially if you take the long escalator up to the ski resort. They also have a public hot spring bath just close to the ski area. I didn't get a breakfast or dinner here because my family runs the lodge quite nice and helpful.
