First of all, kana san is an amazing host. Friendly, welcoming, and very in touch with making sure everyone is comfortable. My family was in the tatami room on the second floor - just be careful when carrying your luggage up the stairs as it is old. It used to be a post office so it has very beautiful features. There is n small kitchen downstairs for hot tea, coffee, water. The room was warm enough with the portable heater in autumn. Checkin is important for dinner on SAT and Sunday because the restaurants will be full. Other options are 711 (open 24 hours if you want to go to the restaurant.5.0/51 Jan 2024

The host named kana san is very kind and attentive. She really cares about every detail to make her guests feel comfortable. We had a very pleasant stay at the hostel. Highly recommended if you like to stay in teeming with peace and relaxation. The location is ideal and is surrounded by many restaurants, convenience stores and onsen too. Kana helped us book i good onoshin nearby and also helped me plan my trip to hakone. I highly recommend this place.4.8/57 Jul 2024

This hostel is cozy! The owner is very kind and helpful! When it was raining a lot and even didnt have b&b, she tried to help others go back to the train station or let us stay if it could be longer! And keep checking when the bus will be back! Will want to come back again. They have 4 beds in the rooms but the bed was so big and comfortable! Very good for couples on fads or you can have your own room i think hes pretty good! He has utensils and crows! A little kitchen or 711 is nearby so its pretty nice.4.8/511 Jun 2024

We cant wait to return to hakone and stay here again! We recently went on a twoandahalfweek trip to japan. Hakoni hostel 1914 was our favorite of all the places we stayed. We remained in incredibly comfortable, traditional janesestyle room. The entire hostel was kept up nicely. Both the common areas and the restrooms were consistently spotless. Kana was an excellent host. She went above and beyond to make our time in ha kone special and unforgettable. Her devotion to the hostel and her visitors was inspiring. Also, the hotel is in an ideal location. Numerous bus stops, walking trails, onsens, convenience stores, cafes and restaurants are conveniently close to it.4.8/527 Jan 2024

We made our reservation through Airbnb during gw 2023 and made reservations there. However, we had to cancel our Airbnb reservation because there was a promotion for residents if we made the reservation there directly. I am therefore unable to post my review there as it is not easily accessible. In any case, this location is quite close to both iyanoshita station and jiyako station. Kanasan is an extremely kind host! She would offer suggestions to ensure that you have optimum experience at hakone. We stayed in rented ten bunk beds. There is earplugs provided unless you are light sleepers and there is just tainted fan based on your hotness. The restrooms and toilets are immaculate. On the first floor, you can interact with other visitors. Books and card games are also available, in addition to local flyers or guides. Batteries for electronics are available onsite assuming you dont have them.4.6/523 Sep 2024

Excellent position just ten minutes from the station. Kana is quite helpful in organizing onsen excursions, local recommendations, and further afield trips. The room is spacious, the beds are comfortable, it is incredibly enjoyable, making for remorseful stays. This hotel is very good! The location is in the city, it takes 30 minutes to get to the hakone lake. The staff are very nice and friendly. You can ask them what you want to see, if they have any advice, or even you can go to a restaurant or onsen with them.4.6/530 Jul 2023

The highlight of our sixweek trip to japan was the hakonehostel. Kana was an exceptional host. She was knowledgeable about the area and assisted us in planning our four days there. He gave us advice on the best hikes, best routes, and best deals. Additionally, she had a lot of knowledge about japonese culture. This hostel is located in the towns historic post office building. It is very cute, cozy, clean. There is tasty, comfortable, kitchen with everything you need, as well as free drinks. Miyanoshita is undoubtedly the greatest village to stay in this part of the hamlet region. Plenty of food options and private onsen are available. From there, everything is easily accessible by public transportation. We wish we could have stayed longer!.4.6/513 May 2023

She and her husband are very good hosts, they help us to go to gotemba. The room is spacious, comfortable and clean. It is also located near train and bus stations. The hostel is nice, the private room we stayed in was elegant and spacious, with antinoise windows and air conditioning. But the real gem of this place is the manager, kana.
