The location is strategic and the service is very good.

This place is amazing, the best sleep in a long time, and the staff are very friendly.

This is a great option if you don't mind having your bathroom and want a traditional, Japanese traditional guest house in a central location. The location was spotless and spotless, and by Japanese hygiene guidelines, you will get one pair of slippers for your room and one for the bathroom. Takigawa is a short walk north of Kyoto station and a great starting point for exploring Kyoto. We walked around on bikes, which was a fantastic mode of transport. Our hostess was really helpful and kind, and we had a great time during our stay! We often don't fall asleep, but the futons were a little firm, so we couldn't sleep as well.

We stayed for one night here and it was excellent. We included traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast in our stay. The food was delicious and varied. The staff is great and even drove us to the train station when we left because we were struggling with our luggage in the rain. The bathroom and toilet are shared among guests, but we had it all to ourselves because there was nobody else that night. Some people might not like the tatami mats if you are used to standard mattresses, as they can feel quite stiff. The hallway did smell a little cigarette smoke, so I'm not sure if some rooms allow smoking.
