The location is great, close to the old tourist area and joker walk. The room is not soundproof, so we can hear the neighbors doors opening and closing, which would disrupt our sleep. The lighting in the room is a bit dim without the bunk bed lights. The wifi is good.

Sadly, when I arrived, the staff was smoking at the front door, and I had to walk through that to enter and ended up smelling smoke on my clothes and in the hostel as well. The staff was friendly enough, and I was able to do my laundry while waiting for my room to be ready I arrived before rp. The card access lock on our door ended up not working for my entire stay, and there were no large lockers available to store my suitcase. This was a little creepy for security purposes, and there was even a guy in the middle of the night in our female only dorm. Most valuables are safely stored under the bed, as are smaller luggage or backpacks. Each bed has a small locker above it, but when I requested a key, they said no one has previously lost it. Overall, this was a newer, clean, and unique hostel. It is narrow but quite long and has nice open spaces between the floors. Breakfast toast, tea, coffee, and laundry were all available all day. It's unfortunate that there were quite a few mishaps during my stay, as I believe this hostel has potential, but I can't happily recommend this hostel because of the reasons stated before.

My first choice for a night in Melba was Nomads. Unfortunately, we got to the property at midnight due to some transfer delays from Singapore, and the reception was already closed, working only until 11 pm. So, we chose to look for a nearby lodging house and luckily, found a decent air-conditioned one to freshen up and sleep. Early the next day, we returned to nomads to check our room and take our complimentary breakfast, but what a shock that the front desk allowed us to stay for another night free as a recovery from what happened the previous night. So, grab it and enjoy another night in Melba. We booked a room that can accommodate four people, one large bed and a small but already satisfying double terrace. We have our own comfort room outside but it is directly across the door. The air conditioning works well. Continental breakfast is provided. There are self-laundry machines available for free. A movie room. The geladas tourist attractions are just a short stroll away.

The location is good and in a good place. The personnel are all friendly and helpful. There is a shared room, however, it is small. Up until the last day, I believed it to be just a storage room. Breakfast is minimal but free, so ok. We were upgraded to a private room, which was nice, but I think Id have been underwhelmed if I had paid full price for it. The area generally is super quiet during the week, lots of places are closed, and then it completely changes on the weekend and is a bit mad. The hostel is quiet when it is not full, but our last night was terrible because it was packed and you could hear doors banging and knocking and people stomping around all night. Even with earplugs in it was still very loud and the bed vibrated when people passed the room.
