Great location right next to the central plaza with small but clean rooms with hot water and lots of hot water. Great staff and good service. Traffic means you can't park in front to drop off bags but the staff have workarounds. But.. Location, location, location. Its steps away from so much to see and do. There is noise when other guests enter or leave and you may find some expended items are sparse. Ask for additional towels or other needs. A gentle team will help as best they can with your requests and adapt to your needs. It is a down to earth, well run small hotel. It doesn't pretend to be luxury and shouldn't be. It is a good place to stay and enjoy everything that is within such a short walk.

We remained in Dolores Hidalgo for one night. It is a small town but is so significant in Mexican history because it was the site of the beginning of Fatherhidalgo's mexican revolution in 1810, which began with fatherhidalgo. It was a lovely city, with its history clear, and a bustling pottery industry. The two small bus stations were about three blocks from the main plaza, and we saw lots of tiny hotels close by. We chose Casa Mia, and we are very glad we chose it. The main plaza, church, and tourist office were only a block away. A young lady welcomed us to her hotel and pointed us to a room on the ground floor with no windows. When we asked for a room with windows, we soon found one, but it was upstairs on the second floor. It was large and tidy, had a comfortable bed, a private bathroom, and was only 300 pesos per night or roughly $225 for two. She thought about going to the main plaza for a while, but the following morning, a young man who worked there had some English at our level of spanish. The casa mia was also well known for its ice cream, which we enjoyed that evening while sitting in the plaza and seeing Fatherhidalgo's statue in a roman toga. We left
