I wanted a cheap dorm-style set-up and that's what I got! The price was right! I paid for an extra bed, which increased overall cost, but on the other hand that minimized the crowding, as I only had to deal with two, rather than three roommates. The two roommates I got did turn out to be nice people! Shower and bath facilities were clean. Sheets changed every day. No problems! If dorm-style living arrangements at a low cost meet your needs, then go for the Hotel Repúlica!

Excelente el hotel bajo las condiciones aceptadas en la reserva! El precio esta excelente ya que el hotel está en remodelación, esta cerca de la estación del metro y estratégicamente te pone cerca de gran parte de la ciudad, el wifi es óptimo, y el desayuno está incluido.

The receptionist is very nice, helpful with a lovely smile...(she is great) the room i got was 601, i recomend it ! great view, very clean other than a roach was on the wall (hay que fumigar!) the hotel is currently under renovation but you can tell that they are trying their best to give us the customers a quality hotel. the bed was very confortable, they do have HOT WATER. its very close to local shopping areas. i slept like a king! for the price compared to others around the area its the best ! i recomend it ...

Hotel Republica is showing its age, but it is a pretty good and affordable option if you want to stay in the heart of the city. (US$30-$40 a night breakfast included) Plaza 5 de Mayo is located at the top of Av. Central, a buzzing pedestrian street (with hundreds of inexpensive stores) leading to to the old city. (It is a 20-25 minute walk to the old city). Note that while the old city has been renovated and is where most tourists attractions and high-end hotels are located, the area around Plaza 5 de Mayo is where local people shop and go out at night. If you want to be in the middle of the action with the local folks and don't mind the noise in the evening, that's the ideal hotel. My room was pleasant with a small fridge, window A/C (not too noisy), and a large shower. Overall a pretty good experience ... and the staff is really friendly, particularly Daniel at the reception and Rosa.
