I may have given this hotel a 3. 5 instead of a 4, but during my time in Zakone, I came to realize that most hotels of the same type have roughly the same standards. Zakone is beautiful, so you should not spend too much time inside. This hotel more closely resembles a section of rooms managed by the nearby Carlton Hotel. Breakfast is served in the latter. My most criticizing comment is the lack of an elevator, since we had a room on the top floor and you really start to feel the steps after a great meal or carrying your baggage. In July, the temperature was extremely high, and there was no AC or ventilation in the room, but at night with windows open one could sleep soundly. Due to its proximity to a park and the proximity to the major road, where plenty of restaurants are accessible, this hotel's position is excellent. The room was kept somewhat clean. OK for three days, but not for more. Breakfast is good, just enough to get you going all day. The receptionist was always very helpful, offering directions and assistance whenever we needed. There are some flaws overall, but none of them negatively affected our time in Zakone.

The receptionist gave us options for lunch and dinner, however, there were none, especially for wet towels. We had a double room in Willa Excelsior with a bathroom there. A very clean room with excellent wifi. Breakfast buffet with a wide variety was offered at a cost at the adjacent Carlton Willa. Breakfast buffet included cereals, cheeses, hardboiled eggs, scrambled eggs, sausages, hot dogs, bacon, cold cuts, fish, salads, vegetables, fruits, breads, crepes, cakes, jams, honey, tea, coffee, etc. Breakfast items were provided at a cost.

This is a kind of cheap addition to the Carlton Hotel. In fact, the carlton front desk is situated there. The staff here is quite friendly and helpful, with indications that it's difficult to locate the town's tourism office, particularly with the public transportation required to get there to the various entrance points to the national park. I stayed in a single room for four nights and an economy double room for two more because it was impossible to reserve all six nights in a single one. When I arrived, however, I was told that the manager had scheduled that I could spend the six nights in the same single room. It's good, but the amount spent for the economy double room was never returned. I've suggested that I have breakfast as compensation, but he replied that was to be discussed with the manager, who appeared to be the invisible guy everyone else was afraid of... There was a communal terrace as well where you can have decent rest while observing the mountains, whether you are in the front part of the building or at the trees at the parking lot. The flooring has carpet, so it can be somewhat warm in hot weather, but you can leave your own garbage in the parking lot. There were only 2 sockets, one in the bathroom and another under the table. No soap is provided. Nonetheless, the location is ideal, 3 blocks from the main street and 3 blocks from the main road where buses pass

We passed by Zakone and stayed two nights in the Villa Excelsior Hotel forget it's excelsior, it's just a villa. We stayed in two separate rooms for two days. The first night was ok, but the shower wasn't working at all, there was no hot water and no water pressure. The first morning, we went to the breakfast buffet in the other building person. It's fine, but we had better and cheaper breakfast in other places in South Poland. The best part was when I asked the barmaid if they had a toaster and she responded very politely no! I still don't know what's bad or how I'm offended by my question. Here's the greatest part.. We had to move from our first room on the second night. It was our fault, we came for 1 night but decided to stay one more night at the last minute. The room we got was supposed to be a four-person room, but it was really two beds and one little sofa. It will be fine if you have two little children with you forget about if you are 4 friends willing to sleep in the same room. The cream of the cream? I tried to explain to them that it's not how superior hotels operate and that it's a terrible customer experience. They asked me to pay 700 it after some research

We stayed in the superior room, which was very well presented, clean and had a beautiful bathroom, but the bed was quite uncomfortable and we didn't sleep very well. I would suppose the hotel was a smoking hotel because the room smelled smoke. The hotel was in a good location for both the main strip of shops and the ski lifts.
