I stayed at Bamoy Hotel for four days from the 28th to the 1st. The property itself is very clean, and the pools were amazing definitely one of the highlights of my stay. However, guests should be aware that there are frequent events held at the hotel, especially during the holiday season. The rooms are not soundproof, and the music and noise often went on very late into the night sometimes until 12 a.m., and on some nights until 3–4 a.m. This made it difficult to get proper rest. If you’re visiting mainly to relax and sleep early during the peak festive season, this may not be the best option. Outside of the noise issue, my overall experience was good, and I enjoyed the facilities, but the constant loud music became too much for me as the days went on. I’m not sure what it’s like from January to November, but during the holiday period it’s definitely lively and event-heavy.

Hotel Barmoi may not be the newest of hotels in Freetown, but it has a great location where you can hear the water crashing at night. The food is superior to other hotels, at a much more reasonable price, along with great staff! I continue to return time and time again.

I was more than satisfied with the quality of service, the attention to detail provided by the staff and the variety of African cuisine offered on a daily basis. When my bill was presented I was bowled over; the services including food was so inexpensive! I’m definitely using Hotel Barmoi on my next video t!

Very efficient and pleasant hardworking staff. No working gym equipment. Old, stained mattress. We had to cover it with a plastic cover and spray it down.

Highly professional courteous staff and management. Good security and hygiene in difficult times. Although Covid - 19 did not hit W.Africa, the aftermath has. Fragile economy and high inflation has lead to a shortage of goods.Barmoi goes the extra mile to satisfy its guests. Owner managed who is always available to help his guests.

Staff is courteous. Conscious ones that want to circulate their dollars with intention, this is the place.

Great staff and good food. Rooms are dated, but AC works. Great value compared to some of the others.

The facilities at the hotel were not new, but they were generally comfortable. The view from the room was good and the sound of the waves was pleasant. There were some unsatisfied things. When I stored water in the bathtub the water leaked and the bathroom floor was flooded. After using the hot water in the shower for about 10 minutes, the water temperature dropped and it was no longer hot water. The pool was not cleaned for the latter three days and could not be used.

A good hotel but not possible for me to use again, no internet that work. That is the biggest problem. Then 2 small bottles with water on arrival, but after that no water. Ok if it is not included but then they could place water in the room just make a note that it is not for free but must be paid with xx amount. No possible to brush teeth and not possible to swallow medicine. This is to bad

The staff was nice and the food and location of the hotel were good. However, the hotel is in need of serious renovations.

The stay was alright but the front desk service was atrocious. From the get go they tried telling us we were doing something wrong with the wifi password when the fault was theirs. Finally they called their tech guy and they fixed it. Right after that they were giving us our room keys and the 4 of us booked identical rooms. 3 of us were Americans and 1 guy was a local friend. We were wondering why he wasn't following behind us and they tried saying they didn't have anymore rooms. We booked it and saw all the keys their for our rooms 27, 28, 29, & 30. We already had our 27-29 rooms and it wasn't till we came back and said we aren't staying at this hotel unless our friend is staying next to us. Then they told us it wasn't a problem and gave him the room that was booked for him. The room floors are pretty dirty. The Sea View deluxe rooms has a steel cage that obstructs the view. The sliding doors don't lock. The bath tub has a mat that you will about break your back by it slipping and sliding around. The food was okay and the dining staff was excellent. Overall it was fine for a night, but we won't be staying there again after the stunt they tried to pull with our Sierra Leone friend. He should be treated like everyone else and was a paying customer. The front desk people just would chuckle to themselves and need some serious training in the hospitality industry.

I needed to stay for a couple of nights in Freetown, a friend recommended this hotel to me and he’s getting the hardest knock on his head when I see him. Upon arrival, there was an event happening at the hotel so people were crowded at the reception. There was no one guiding me as I made my way through, lifted my suitcase myself etc and went to check in. Checked in and got my room, the room was right by the reception and as these rooms are not sound proofed, I could hear everything happening so I immediately mentioned this isn’t suitable for me to get a good night’s sleep, they changed the room for me. The first room also had this plastic shower curtain which had black mould all over it. Disgusting. New room seemed cleaner and more spacious. I was grateful for that and it was away from the noise and the crowd. However, other things went wrong. If you’re looking for comfy soft lush bedding, forget it. This was the hardest mattress I have laid on whew! And the bedding had stains on them. I didn’t complain about this cause I was too exhausted from travelling and just needed to sleep. Truly the only saving grace of this place is the friendly staff. Breakfast is okay, I ate breakfast here and one dinner of jollof rice and chicken stew. The food is mid, nothing to write home about. Water stopped running. Loud construction noises waking you up with no prior warning. Overall shabby and run down, the walls, doors, bedding, etc all had dirt and stains. Will not be returning

This hotel is outdated. I personally find that the hotels in Sierra Leone are overpriced for the conditions of the facilities. This is one of them. The highlight of our stay was the continental breakfast. It was very good. But too many flies in the dining hall! The staff in the restaurant were very nice and helpful. Overall too overpriced and needs a renovation.

Checked in for a deluxe room I was told it’s not available even though on hotel.com it’s available. I was charged an extra Le1570 ($66) to get a room that looks the same that I paid for. I will never recommend someone to that hotel.
