The building itsself is very cool. The place feels guite grand, and also has an internal courtyard. Room was spacious for a family of 3. Location was amazing, literally in the city centre. Although centrally located, there was zero noise. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel is truly a palace or a huge mansion, very well located, 1 block from the river and 3 blocks from the 3 bridges/Presernov square, the heart of the city. The room was huge. We checked in at 11 PM and there was somebody waiting for us. We had a great experience overall, definitely we will stay at Barbo palace on our next visit to Ljublana The only little inconvenience was having to open 2 doors with a physical key, we always ended up trying the wrong key.

Barbo Palace is a very ideal place to stay when you are visiting Ljubljana, Slovenia. This building was build in 1884 yet still in a very good condition. High ceiling & they have good amenities in the room we were staying. Location is perfect, only 20 minutes walking to get you to the castle. Many nice cafes & bars along the river that’s just behind the hotel. We met & to get to know a very lovely young lady, Petra (she’s a student & taking a part time job as receptionist at Barbo) who’s very helpful & knowledgeable about the city. I love this city & the hotel I stayed.

The staff is super friendly, the location is excellent, but most of all, the interior is magical - the original building is a few hundred years old - the rooms are renovated with modern fixtures etc but the ceilings are super high, the corridors are winding and mysterious, and there are huge old wooden doors to the outside. This place is perfect for a visit to Ljubljana

The apartment was located in a very old but charming building right in the heart of Old Town. No vehicles are allowed in that location so be prepared to walk a few blocks with your luggage. Thankfully the building does have a modern elevator. The staff were helpful and friendly. All the best sights in Ljubljana are within walking distance. We enjoyed our stay.

We had an excellent stay at Barbo Palace. Stayed for three nights in the castle view room. The suite was very comfortable and spacious with two large bedrooms, a sitting area, well stocked kitchen and sizeable bathroom (including a large shower). The air conditioner kept the bedrooms very comfortable with the heat Ljubljana was experiencing at the time. We loved the location, quiet but easy to walk to everywhere we wanted to go and close to the edge of the pedestrian only area for tour and rental car pick ups. I would absolutely stay here again on any future trips to Ljubljana, it’s a gem in the city!

What makes this place so special, besides its charm, is Gregor the receptionist. He was incredibly welcoming, and his food recommendations were spot on! We liked that the place was central, generally quiet, and had a kitchen.

Beautiful old palace converted to apartments. Rooms are spacious and historic. Loved the air-conditioning on the hot days we were there. Staff were very helpful and allowed us to stash our bags and arranged for airport transfers. Location is excellent in Old Town.

It is a wonderful hotel in the historic old town. The staff was very helpful. You can walk everywhere and it is a beautiful town. The staff had nice suggestions for what to do. One drawback is that you have to park at lots outside of town. It was pretty easy once you figure it out. A taxi brings you to outside the center and a small electric car will take you to the hotel. The hotel staff was happy to help calling taxis. The hotel included your first ride to the hotel and your check out. I highly recommend this hotel!
