Despite it being not in a trendy area, the hotel will provide a more genuine Taiwanese experience. But it comes with a good location, nice cleanliness, and friendly staff. A typical food market with plenty of food stands is just 10 minutes by walking distance. Metro is close by. The shopping district is close by.

The location and staff are among the best, but the hotel is a little old. I was upgraded from an executive room because the hotel had run out of executive rooms by the time I checked in. However, the room I was given was an executive plus, with the only thing making it an added plus is the addition of a seating area. Iron burn marks on the carpet and a strong molddamp smell. As asthma attacks, I requested that I change rooms. I was given the executive room I initially paid for, which was again not the greatest, but had no smell and was more comfortable. In the morning both rooms I had been in had a drainage smell coming from the bathroom drain outlet. If you can cope with drainage smells, it is fine, and given it was an old structure, it was tolerable.

I recently stayed there for a night. Very centrally located. Many options for a tasty meal nearby. The Metro is about a 10-minute walk away. The service was friendly and courteous. The family room was my choice. The carpet in the room is a bit old, and it has a musty smell. Furthermore, the air conditioner vent was moldy. Breakfast was quite acceptable. An old hotel in a central location with welcoming and pleasant staff.
