Her son with Zeus, named Arcas, became the king of his land that was later referred to as Arcadia. King Arcas saw Callisto, the bear-mother of the Arcadians, and was about to shoot her when Zeus descended from Mount Olympus and placed both of them in the skies to avoid the tragedy and protect her. Callisto became the constellation we know today as Ursa Major (Big Bear), making Arcas the Ursa Minor (Small Bear), two of the most powerful constellations in the sky, guarding the north side of the horizon.
