Very good. Up Pen Y Fan and other mountains after a day of adventure we sometimes felt very wet. Finding this actor for the night was fantastic. Very nice room, great outdoor area, good interior food, friendly staff and black dragon cider! Only stayed for one night but hope to return to the mountains and stay at dragon inn.

We reserved a family room for ourselves and our two granddaughters. The room was roomy, with double and two single beds and spotless linen. The bathroom was spotless, with a good bath and hand towels. A quirky and lovely family room with a small balcony and steps leading to the beer garden. We had supper in the evening, which was enjoyable not cordon bleu, but as you would expect from a country inn, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, brunch was not a pleasant experience. We had a long drive in advance across Wales for a holiday in Castleford. As we sat for 34 hours awaiting our breakfast, the service was terrible. Just for a bowl of porridge, one of our granddaughters had to wait this long. Our prepared breakfast was poor, with hard and dry bacon, and a poached egg that was impossible to identify. I assume that the above may have been due to staffing difficulties, and we hope these can be resolved. It is a beautiful location to stay, but breakfast was not a good start to the day due to our long drive to north wales.

Ignore the two moaning minnies, I remained here for 2 nights as a base for walking with a friend and you won't find a better place. The twin room was nice. The entire staff is so friendly. I forget the lady who was in charge, but she was really good at her job. I have 30 years in hospitality and would hire her a second. Attentive, quick, knowledgeable, and extremely hardworking. Both Tuesday and Monday nights, they were busy and she was busy Huge congratulations to an industry professional. Food canceled our reservation for the night and ate here again because the food was so good. They have a new chef who is fantastic. All are extremely good value for money, especially at this time. Although nothing to do with the inn, this is our and time in crickhowell and the town is beautiful, theres everything you need, plus more, and the people arch the people it's very friendly, so if you're looking for a base in South Wales, crickhowell as a town would be difficult to beat and this would be the place to stay. 2 extra points we put our food and drinks on our room and when I went to pay there was no service charge so please tip. Also up on the side streets off the main room is a small charity shop selling refurbished garden tools all profits to their
