I want to express my gratitude to Suzan and Ian for making us feel so welcome in their lovely home. The tower room was very cosy and the extensive breakfast offered us a wide variety of options. Ian is extremely knowledgeable about the castle's history and takes the time to share. I cannot recommend this place enough.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We had high hopes from the pictures and we were not disappointed. The castle is beautiful and you really do feel regal! We felt very welcome and had the run of the castle's wings. The owners are really friendly and always there for a chat or anything needed. The whole experience made our special anniversary even more special.

Weve stayed in four wonderful castles, but we have one that we regard as our magnificent Scottish home away from home. This was our second visit, but we hope not the last. Sue, ian, and the family are not more hospitable, helpful, informative, or entertaining. You enter a stone fenced garden that resembles that in the secret garden, one of my favorite kids' books. Scottish roses are the most lovely Ive ever seen, while enormous poppies and columbine greeted you. Foxglove weeds grow as it should! Mine can only last one season. I expect optimal conditions for long, chilly, and wet growing season. An expansive lawn with city and forth is located outside the wall. Now for the star attraction. There is a plexiglass covered dungeon when entering the castle because no selfrespecting castle can do without it. Youll find your private great hall, with a number of cool features including a walkin fireplace, the laird stone throne room, and a large cozy sofa as you climb the next level up the stone spiral staircase. Do not forget to browse the book about the castles past as you look up at the painted ceiling for a picture of the owners family. Next to your sleeping and dining accommodations. A comfortable king-sized bedroom is on one side of this room

This is a must. Great location and wonderful hosts! I loved it there, wish I had more time! Breakfast exceeded my expectations. Fresh croissants, muffins, cereals, coffee... You won't be disappointed. Everyone should experience this lovely piece of paradise!

We actually came here before the set schedule, it will only go so far. Love the place! Best money spent and my husband and I still count this as our favourite stopover during our 12-day trip across Scotland. I really cannot say enough good things about the owners either. If given the chance I will stay here again. My husband liked basically having the tower to ourselves and really enjoyed going up to the battlements and seeing Edinburgh. Beautiful countryside!.
