We chose to spend 2 nights in Southampton, our final destination, instead of switching our flights, and I'm glad we did. We chose the Juniper Berry because it didn't appear to be your typical hotel and thought that's what we should do while in England. Anyway, it was really quite charming, and we loved the speed. It is on a corner lot and is located above a bar, but the bar closes at 10 a.m. The room was basic, with a comfortable mattress, clean linens, plenty of hot water, flyscreen, and tidy. We had a very warm welcome from the manager, Fiona, who was filled with helpful information along with daisy, paddy, and mikey who work the bar and were also very friendly. There is an easy location, walking distance of numerous activities, and a major mall. I would definitely stay again but there are some drawbacks to be aware of but none of which have any effect on me. You have to carry your luggage up a steep flight because there is no elevator because we are from south texas. However, we opened up the lovely lead glass windows and had a great night's sleep. Thankfully, they had a blow dryer I could use, but I had to ask. Overall, we will always remember this charming little hotel and its friendly and welcoming staff.

I had a great 2 night stay here, the beds are comfy, and it's in the city but on a nice quiet side street so you can't hear everything going on! The rooms are small but for the price, it's perfect for a base if you are shopping or going to see a show. 5 minute walk to shops and about 15 minute walk to the Mayflower! I would definitely stay there again!

We stayed here before going on a cruise. Walking distance to shops and within the old walls of the city. Easy place to walk around sightseeing. Friendly staff, very clean. Some noise, thin walls. Stairs to the room. Great place, would stay again.
