The room itself was small, but the bathroom was clean, the shower was decent. The hotel appears to have nice rooms in the back leading to a garden, but if you get ground floor rooms onto the street, such as 11, don't expect a quiet stay. I appreciate the listed building cannot have double glazing, but the roller blind didn't help to block out any noise. Every footstep, conversation and car passing through can be clearly heard. To add to the non-silent stay, the bedroom door leads onto the breakfast area, so I was first woken by the dawn chorus, kids going to school, and then the sound of cutlery on the plates! My advice if you stay here, be prepared for a small room and make sure you don't stay on the ground floor at the front.

I had a terrible experience during my two nights there. After the first night's stay, there was no hot water for a shower, the hair dryer was broken, the fan was plugged out by a spark, the bedside mattress cover was not in good shape, and there was no juice available for breakfast. There is no fresh cornflakes.

The Be is a lovely place to stay. The location is also ideal. Very close to the train station and just outside the city center. The room is a comfortable size for a onenight stay. The bathroom is quite small, but for a 4 foot 9 person like me it was fine, but my partner who is 6 feet was crowded for him. My only complaint is the rug we had in our room, it was very slippery to stand on and a few times as I walked over it it slid and moved and I almost slipped over. The full English breakfast was a decent portion, and you could also help yourself to a continental breakfast. The staff was also very friendly. Due to an old building, you can hear all your neighbors in other rooms, but I expected that so wasn't a big deal. Overall, the stay was excellent.

I reserved 6 rooms for a wedding for our entire family. The employees here were very helpful. Breakfast here was excellent. Later we will come back to visit family in Canterbury.
