The room was beautiful, comfortable, and full of character. Dinner was outstanding, and breakfast the following morning was equally impressive, with great quality food and excellent service. What really made the stay special, however, was the staff. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making us feel valued throughout our visit. A charming hotel with fantastic food, beautiful accommodation, and exceptional hospitality. I wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We had a fantastic time during our stay at the Blue Pigeons hotel. Our room was amazing and the hotel was beautiful. We had a very warm welcome upon arrival and the staff were lovely. Every part of our stay was memorable from the room to the food. We stayed in the largest suite on the top floor, Lily, and it was perfect, including the view of the beautiful church. We would love to stay again and would definitely recommend a stay in the Blue Pigeon if you want a break where you can truly relax and unwind! :-)))

The hotel and gardens are beautiful - immaculate garden perfect for a pre dinner cocktail. Was very impressed with the decor and high standard of furnishings - should be a wedding venue or offer cream teas. We had an amazing dinner - cannot fault the food or drink!!

We booked the Lily Room at the Blue Pigeon for our wedding anniversary, hoping for a quiet, restorative escape after a demanding few months. Unfortunately, the stay didn't quite deliver on that promise — though it wasn't without its highlights. Arrival set an unexpected tone. We walked into what appeared to be a large, lively bottomless brunch gathering — very much a party atmosphere — and could barely hear the receptionist over the noise. For guests seeking a peaceful retreat, this was quite a jolt, and felt at odds with how the hotel presents itself. The room itself was genuinely lovely. Beautifully decorated, well-furnished, and thoughtfully put together with real attention to detail — exactly what you'd hope for at this price point, and credit where it's due. Sadly, sleep was impossible. The church directly opposite chimes on the hour, every hour, throughout the night — something we weren't forewarned about. The room also ran very hot despite no radiators being on, and opening the window only amplified the bells. By morning, having had no sleep whatsoever, we missed breakfast entirely so can’t comment on that. The Blue Pigeon clearly has the bones of something special, shows real care in its design. But the overall experience felt confused — the branding suggests a calm, boutique bolthole, while the reality on our visit was quite different. A little more consistency between the two, would consider returning!

The hotel was a surprise, nicer and newer than I had anticipated. Located in a country area, opposite the church(the bell rang every hour day and night). The staff appeared very inexperienced and new. Almost every request was referred to ‘my manager’ who turned out not to be on site during two days we were there. I was not asked on arrival to give my credit card on by the barman/receptionist which seemed odd, but he was probably the only person there. I couldn’t pay the bill when I left because the second person on reception did not know how to print out the bill. No one pays a bill before having seen it.The food generally was very good, but having been told breakfast ‘time’ was would be from 8-10, on the second morning it was not available until 8.30, which was inconvenient and rather odd in a small hotel. Later we were told in a phone call from ‘the manager’ that she and some other staff were not generally available because during the week (i.e. not weekends) they were not busy then.
