Very comfortable bed. I was given an upgrade from a single to a double room. Very friendly and helpful staff. I have stayed here a number of times and I have never been disappointed. Easy parking, which is always helpful.

The George hotel is historically stunning!! The entire hotel holds so much beautiful character, from the sitting rooms to the restaurant. The restaurant is also gorgeous, overlooking the river and their lovely gardens, not to mention that the food was very much fine dining for a low price.

Booking was last minute and a real pleasure to find such a dog friendly hotel in an idealic riverside location. The staff couldnt be more helpful or friendly, nothing was too much trouble, and of course it was a paws up from our dog as he was offered treats at every turn. The hotel itself is starting to show its age but dont let that put you off.

Great stay in a hotel beside the river, with lovely scenery. Comfortable bed meant I slept very well. Breakfast was lovely each day and so was the evening meal I had. Great location for exploring Hadrian's Wall or attending Hexham Races.

The first room we checked into was next to an internal door which kept being slammed by noisy guests. We were moved to another room by a lovely and helpful member of staff without any hesitation. The second room was an upgrade from the first one and was in a much quieter part of the hotel so we are very appreciative of that. The staff were lovely, friendly and accommodating.the location is perfect next to the river and the outdoor space was great (was a lively still and sunny day). Breakfast was plentiful, hot and delicious.

Sehr schön gelegenes Hotel mit sehr freundlichem, hilfsbereitem Personal. Unser Zimmer war sehr gross und super ausgestattet mit neu renoviertem Bad in gutem Zustand. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Das Hotel hat einen tollen Garten mit vielen Sitzgelegenheiten und einer schönen Aussicht auf die Brücke und den Fluss. Das Restaurant hat eine gute Auswahl an Speisen und wir haben sehr lecker gegessen. Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr reichhaltig. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.
