There's excellent afternoon tea at a window table looking out onto the cathedral. Quiches and scones were warm, and sandwiches were varied well. The tables were well hidden, and the employees wore masks, so I felt very secure.

Located at the front of the building, the room had great views of the cathedral. The only negative for us was that the cathedral bell ringed in the middle of the night and woke us up several times.

We only stayed here for one night but wish we could have spent more, but in general, we would have highly recommend it. Excellent value for the money. We needed somewhere dog friendly, and this is the place to be. We had a large room with clean and spacious accommodations overlooking the cathedral. It is somewhat calm, even though it is in the center. The room we had could use a makeover, but everything was spotless, a very comfortable bed, fluffy towels, and a reasonable value. Every employee we encountered was exceptionally cordial, polite, and helpful. Breakfast was wonderful, and overall, I would recommend this hotel for convenience to the town center, dog friendliness, and comfort.

Despite the fact that the store is closing at the end of the year, we anticipate that it will undergo a complete renovation and that every detail is considered. Although it worked downstairs in the public spaces, the free internet that was promoted was disjointed in the bedroom. Although there used to be a few sofas there, there was only one sofa in the entire building, making it difficult to rest at a dining table and a dining chair while sitting downstairs. In the bedroom blurb, it states that a freshly cooked breakfast comes with continental options. There are no continental alternatives. When we reserved, we inquired about vegan options and were assured that that would not be an issue. No vegan alternatives were available. Since all of the cooked options use eggs, we had to select the vegan components from the full yorkshire selection. Every morning, there were bean sprouts, a mushroom, and a tomato. Despite all of this, the room was spotless, cozy, and quiet, and the garden is lovely.
