This is my second visit this year, and if I had reviewed my previous visit, it would have said that it was much the same as this one. A welcoming, friendly restaurant with plenty of menu options, too many as it is hard to make a decision. The highlights for me were a good selection of fish dishes and some traditional puddings, but all three of us were very satisfied with the quality of our meals.

I'm so happy I decided to go back, even though it was my first choice to eat, so everyone will know it. It's always a great family evening, so we always eat at peat and spade because the food is always wonderful, but tonight it was the best.

I had a fantastic mid-week stay at the peat spade for work. My room was spacious and cozy and full of charm, and the shower pressure was excellent in an older structure! The room was well-equipped with an iron, coffee maker, and wireless charger by the bed! Both breakfast and dinner were delicious real coffee, as was the menu with fresh, light dishes and pub favourites. I felt very welcome, which is not always the case as a solo traveler, and hope to return soon on vacation this time!.

Excellent location. With numerous thatched cottages, the village itself is idyllic. Stockbridge, the river, shops, pubs, and coffee shops are all nearby. The room was ideal and included a king bed, a power shower, and all amenities. There were a couple of decent real ales in the bar, as well as a number of gins and whiskies. Great food, affordable. We were a noisy group of eight people who only wanted to eat in on the first night, but we all liked it so much that we also reserved a second night. Excellent breakfasts.
