Lovely pub in a lovely village. The staff were very nice and helpful. We stayed one night in Ghyll. The room was spacious and clean with a nice bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. There was no loud noise from the pub or outside. We had an evening meal in the pub. It was good food - decent portions, delicious & hot. The pub has a super beer garden out the back. We had breakfast which is over the road - this was also very nice. We only had one hot drink included in the breakfast but didn’t mind paying for another. We would stay again!!

Excellent rooms above a friendly welcoming pub with nice outside area ….. rooms clean and tidy with excellent shower…. Staff are very helpful and the pub menu good value for money …. Plus they sell Veltins German beer !!!! …… Breakfast is served over the road at the Cartmel Square ….. which is also excellent

Everything worked fine and we had a good stay. Nice beer! Only one, terribly minor, request for the future. The hotel had an arrangement that we had breakfast in a cafe over the road, it was a nice breakfast with a good range of options but only one cup of coffee included; we could have done with a second cup to send us on our way.

I came here for dinner on our anniversary. Very conform to all couid regulations. Very good table service. I had the best steak I have had in a long time. Nice atmosphere. Overall a lovely experience.

The staff was very helpful and did a great job. They provide some excellent local beer in a hidden beer garden by the river. Our dog love their water swim in the river. Recently bought by the local brewery fell, who now offers a wide selection of traditional ales and ciders.

During our stay in cartel, we visited several times, on the cartel street. Friendly staff, local beer, nice conservatory and beer garden in the rear with a view of the river. Had music on early Sunday evening. Didn't eat here but saw good food being served.

The service from the staff was really nice. They serve food with a beautiful atmosphere in a beautiful building. They are a real pub with connections to a local brewery. We tried 3 different beers and all were delicious.
