Great location The room was clean and everything I needed. The pub provided great food and was a nice atmosphere. Breakfast was made for me in the morning.

A Proper Pub Stay – Full of Character If you want the sort of polished luxury offered by a high-end hotel, then this charming local pub with three letting rooms probably isn’t for you. However, you’d be missing a trick. This traditional inn positively oozes charm, character and genuine hospitality, the sort of warmth and friendliness that often seems to be missing from everyday life nowadays. When I arrived at around 6pm, the car park already had a healthy number of vehicles in it. Note to self: one box already ticked. The weather was lovely and there were several people outside enjoying the evening sunshine. Walking into the bar, I was greeted by a group of men of various ages gathered around the bar, all engaged in good-natured banter and laughter. It was genuinely heartening to see such cross-generational, wholesome camaraderie. I should perhaps pause my reflection here because, as a lone female traveller, some people may find the thought of arriving at a busy local pub slightly daunting. In reality, it felt exactly what a local pub should feel like, welcoming, friendly and completely unpretentious. By golly, we need to hang on to places like this. Dan, the manager, finished serving one of his customers before checking me in personally and showing me to my room, which was a nice touch. My room was called Cow. Somehow, even though The Bald wasn’t with me, it felt like he was! The room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay: a king-size bed, television, tea/coffee.

Easy check-in, excellent staff, good bar area (again, excellent staff). Very good food, super local brews. Comfortable bed, great breakfast. Oh, and nice beer garden to boot. Would come here again and, if I lived locally, it would definitely be a regular haunt. Staff are superb.

The Sun Inn is my favourite pub/hotel when in the Shropshire area. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The rooms (3 in number) are clean and comfortable and the rates are reasonable

Excellent staff fantastic chef food was brilliant and plenty of it. Room was very warm and cozy we would recommend it to everyone. Lovely welcome and the lady that served us breakfast was amazing made you feel very welcome. See you soon again Parking free which helped.

Amazing quality with a budget price tag. Very friendly staff and locals, great food with smaller plate options. The rooms have the 'luxuries' that used to be standard (tissues, toiletries, drinks, biscuits)
