Because it was a last-minute getaway, and let's face it, in the summer, up north isn't cheap. It's a motel, so I was a little concerned. However, the room was spotless, and the beds were extremely cozy. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful with dinner recommendations. The bathroom wasn't great, but since we are not particularly picky, it was fine. The water's odor and flavor are the only issues. Bring bottled water!.

Although I was pleased with my decision to make the reservation, the TripAdvisor gave us a 4. 5 rating. The room was comfortable to live in, and it had a nice fridge and coffee. The cleanliness of the room was good, with a clean bed. The bathroom was gross, with mold and mildew in the shower, and there was an unpleasant smell during the night. The grounds could use some cleaning, and I was disappointed that the clerk at the check-out didn't wear a mask, as required in Michigan during this Covid 19 outbreak. Sadly, Elk Rapids didn't offer a wide variety of lodging options.

We are looking forward to staying here again. We had a nice stay. Our room was spotless and cozy during the week while staying on the lakeshore. There is a king bed in our room, which was really comfortable for sleeping. Great, quiet air conditioning. The peacefulness of your inn also makes it a good place to stay, everyone seemed very considerate of others. Just a few small suggestions: It would be nice if there were two additional wall hangings for bathroom towels and an extra roll of towels left in the room.

There is no sidewalk leading to the beach. There are many locations to stroll on the road and get to town as you walk 2 miles or if you travel south towards traverse city. Look elsewhere if you prefer fresh lake air and clear lungs. There is a bucket hanging outside each door to gather butts for smokers despite the smokefree area stickers half worn off the doors. There are nice sleep inns and holiday inns a few miles south for asthmatics, small children, and others with health concerns that make smoking, including secondhand, a pleasant sleep inn and a few miles south! The rooms are adequate, similar to what you would expect from an ancient motel in the modern era. There was a mini fridge found, but watch the temperature our children's milk was frozen by morning. Keeps pop soda for nonmichiganders and water nice and cold. There is also a microwave and coffee maker in the room. Rooms are clean and recently painted. The bathroom had a newer sink and fixture, but the shower was probably the last one. Those with little children should take a shower since bathrooms lack bathtubs.
