Our stay at Hillcrest Mansion was a 4 star experience in every conceivable way. This magnificent house has been meticulously restored. From the gorgeous period antiques to the dinnerware, every element is in pristine condition. But there’s nothing antique about the amenities, From the beautifully appointed, updated bathrooms to a jaw dropping gourmet breakfast, this was our most enjoyable — and indulgent— stay at a bed and breakfast. The owner (Martha) is a warm and gracious host and as an added bonus, you get her charming and entertaining parents. Highly recommend!

This place is absolutely beautiful! Do not hesitate to stay here . You will be amazed at the gorgeous rooms , porch , pool! But what really is special is how wonderful the owner Martha is! I felt like I was in 5 star hotel! I am planning a family reunion here and Martha as a chef will be preparing our dinner. I can say enough how wonderful this experience was♥️

Fantastic B&B! Martha, the owner, catered to our every need. Beautiful home and grounds sit above the small town of Clifton Forge. 5 out of 5 stars all around. Would be a great house for a wedding party to secure for a weekend as well. Breakfast was out of this world!

The B & B did not disappoint. It was a delightful experience. A wonderful hostess as well as a great Chef. Breakfast was a culinary adventure with new tasty breakfast dishes each morning. Martha, the hostess, is a very nice lady with interesting conversations. She is attentive with her quests and goes out of her way to see you are accommodated with any need and comfort. Totally worth the stay, the residence is clean, large, private, quiet and cozy. Definitely a gem!

This property rates at the TOP of the list. Its as elegant as the Greenbriar and Homestead in terms of the property and rooms. It is stunning. Martha is a wonderful host and she is so elegant in her special touches....antiques, crystal, place settings, even in the room crystal glasses with little doilies on top with crystals weighted down. Magnificent Crystal Chandeliers. Historic touches everywhere. You will want to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at Hillcrest Mansion! Martha was an amazing host! We arrived late, but she greeted us at the door and showed us around. The house and the room were beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and the service was fantastic! We want to come back and will definitely recommend Martha’s place to our friends.

I normally do not rate lodging unless there is an issue that they need to address but this is the exception. I could not recommend Hillcrest any higher. It was a treat to stay, great hostess with gourmet breakfasts. Well worth going out of the way to stay there.

My wife and I stayed here in May 2025. We loved it, and would definitely stay here again, if we were in the area. The inn itself was great, but Martha (the hostess) was the real highlight of this place. She was very welcoming, and certainly had a servant's heart. The breakfast she made was outstanding. And the cookies were delicious, too! The room we stayed in was very good (including the bathroom), and we loved sitting on the front porch during our first night there. The view of the mountains in the distance was beautiful.

Martha and her family could not have made us more welcome. The house was absolutely stunning and decorated beautifully throughout. The attention to detail was second to none. The breakfast was unlike anything we have ever experienced, a truly unique occasion made even grander by Martha's Mum and Dad waiting on us in full service uniform including white gloves. We only wished we had booked a longer stay, and will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Hillcrest Mansion Inn. It felt like stepping onto a film set worthy of Downton Abbey. The house is beautiful; it was so nice and peaceful to spend time in such a warm and cozy place. Breakfast was phenomenal, Martha is an amazing cook. I felt so pampered the entire weekend we were there. Perfect for those seeking a romantic, out of time, experience. The beds are fantastic which added to our goals for a restful and relaxing getaway. We will definitely be back!

It was incredible at the Hillcrest. Martha and her family were so lovely and cared for us immensely. We were lucky to be there for the night when there were no other guests in the mansion, so we had the entire place to ourselves, and all of Martha's incredible hospitality. She whipped us up an incredible three course dinner at a moment's notice, and the breakfast the next morning was divine. We were in no rush and spent a good three or so hours enjoying the breakfast and chatting to her wonderful parents. Then there is the house itself, which was so beautiful and exactly the type of quintessential American place we were looking for as two Brits. Thank you so much to Martha and her parents for the best ever stay, we will always remember it, and we hope to go back one day.
