Our stay was incredible. Gigi made us feel like family and the property was gorgeous. Home cooked breakfast each morning made with care and love. She took special care of my diabetic husband, making him special options. We will be back!

Torri was the best hostess ever!!! Very friendly funny and kind!!! Always gave great adventure advice for the island!!! Breakfast was bomb with a great variety!!! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience and that’s all due to Torri!!! What an awesome nugget to find in such a beautiful place for our honeymoon!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this property. The hosts Kevin and Carol were outstanding. We felt pampered and relaxed. The pool and the view were beautiful. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. We hated to leave.

Carol and Kevin were great hosts. We had a little hiccup trying to get into the property as Carol had left me a message, but we had been flying all day and hadnt listened to it. But, all was well and they were welcoming and accomodating.

A fantastic place to stay! We found this place on the day that Kona airport closed due to a runway crack. Diana is a great host. We arrived there almost midnight, Diana waited for us and helped us get settled in. Next morning, we woke up to an amazing sea view. Diana showed us around and gave us a very thorough guide to nearby scenic spots. It is very close to the best snorkeling spot on the Big Island. The property has a sauna and swimming pool, which is great. It is also easy to find nice restaurants nearby.

Excellent location. There is a bee farm nearby, that was fascinating to visit, and a great snorkeling beach down the road. The pool was great. The hot tub was not very hot while we were there, but I believe they were working on fixing that. The room had a great outdoor area for dining and lounging.

We stayed 12 days at Luana inn. The room was great and had sufficient kitchenette amenities The inn keeper Diana and her husband were wonderful! If we needed anything they were right there! The hot tub was great and always on and good temperature. We did not use the pool as it was cooler than I would want. I loved the location and the views were incredible! We would stay here again and recommended this place to anyone staying on the Big Island

We loved this Inn. The amenities were great including the private patio, hot tub with lights, and campus for night time star gazing. The host we super friendly. She brought us whatever we needed. They had a great collection of books for borrowing. This Inn was super close to some of the best snorkeling in all of Big Island.

This property’s location is probably one of the best in the Captain Cooks area, the views from the pool deck are stunning. Sarah’s breakfasts are one of a kind, fresh, healthy and a different taste everyday. At the Luana-Inn you’ll feel like at home, no room service but everything you need is available, just ask. The 2 cabins near the pool need acoustical insulation from the floor above. The Captain cook area is like a jungle, luscious green and beautiful winding roads to get to the property. At night is very dark and the closest place for diner is 30’ away down town so plan to buy before you get back from your excursions if you don't want to drive at night. Every single beach near and far has opportunity for snorkeling but bring proper water shoes. Overall we liked the property but we are pretty easy to please. Highly recommend the boat tours!

This place has a gorgeous location tucked away on a steep hillside with great views off to the ocean. It's very private, with a gate that is easy to pass by.

The view and initial sensory impact when arriving is wonderful with the pool and surrounding grounds. After that, you realize how dated and unkept the place is. You aren't told at booking that it is a vegan experience and the only breakfast you got on first day was 2 pancakes and fruit. Others similar. Very loud/old AC. Cob webs everywhere. Curtains over slider too long and dragged on floor. Shower door fell off. Trouble driving out through gate. Hosts are not the owner which leads to inconsistent experiences because of changes in staff.

First off, the positives: The view from our room was absolutely astonishingly beautiful! The bed was really comfortable as well. The staff were all friendly and helpful. However, the place was not clean, as there was hair in one of the drawers and we had to run to Safeway to purchase sanitizer wipes for high touch surfaces, as they were dirty, and bleach spray to spray down the shower area. The refrigerator was dirty also. Each night there were giant Palmetto bugs crawling around outside. Unfortunately, they like to swim also, as the pool had several of them floating in it for all but two nights that we were there (out of eight). If the place were cleaner, had better pool care, and a clothes dryer, it would be a five star rating. But that view is amazing!

Was highly disappointed in this place. Place was rated a 9.6 but there were bugs everywhere both dead and alive. Millipedes and something biting us while we slept. We booked this trying to support small businesses, but it was far out of the way and not very clean. We left early due to the bugs, however the owner refused to refund us for the last 2 days. If you’re thinking of booking here, dont
