We've stayed at this hotel several times, mainly because it's very close for visiting family and friends, and partly because the city of Bien Hoa lacks choice where hotel accommodation is concerned. There is no lift but there are only two floors and the stairs are very wide and shallow. The rooms are large, very clean, but fairly basic; the beds are very comfortable with beautfully clean bed linen. Television reception isn't great, internet connection is usually adequate but does go down quite often. A kettle is usually provided, along with tiny cups and a teapot, but complimentary tea and coffee are not - we usually take a supply of these with us. The main problem with most of the rooms we've stayed in is the lack of electrical outlets, and those that are there are nearly wlways on one side of the room only - that opposite the bed. So, the ancient pre-war bedside lamp is useless as there's nowhere to plug it in! Likewise, the TV has to be unplugged in order for the kettle to be used. It's quite funny really - just one of those little quirks. The bathrooms are large with plenty of hot water for showers, but some of the older bathrooms have only cold water taps at the basins, and sometimes no plug which can make shaving a bit tricky. We've found this to be quite common in Vietnam so now we carry a universal plug. The notion of a Western breakfast hasn't yet reached this city, so the hotel doesn't provide much in the way of a hearty breakfast for us Westerners. The ubiquit

We stayed for a couple nights because we were taking a tour (with Oxalis, which was amazing) to see the Phong Nha caves. Even with the short amount of time spent at this hotel it was tremendously terrible. Most important point: we had no hot water! Staff told us to switch a plug up and wait 15 mins, which was already ridiculous, after waiting we still had to shower in the cold. If you are looking for a place to eat, there is nothing remotely close by. The wifi was nonexistent. No point trying to check your emails or update friends. They also hid the hair drying from you as you have to ask the front desk and sign off on borrowing their new and used blow dryers. Overall, it was a poor experience, and even considering the price, I would recommend staying someplace else.
