I accompanied my aging parents for the night. I reserved a family room for three people. We had emails exchanges prior to the stay, and the inn's response was swift. We were pleased that the proprietor had set up an experienced and amiable driver to pick us up from our beijing hotel because it wasn't cheap. It took us three hours to get there, but it was pleasant. During non-peak times, it would be two. The proprietor and the rest of the family were warm, and the inn was simple but inviting. We especially liked all of their home-cooked cuisines because they ate well, and they also enjoyed them. Even homemade wine and strawberry jam were available, which I would advise anyone to try. The proprietor assisted us in setting up a driver to pick us up early in the morning because she saw that we had to catch a train in Beijing the next day. She was extremely accommodating and made sure all of our needs were met. The room should have toilet paper, which I believe is available, as well as towels. Also, there should be a heater accessible because it was there, but I did not think the water was heated. Nevertheless, the stay was excellent.

This is a great location if you want to spend a good, comfortable stay with welcoming hosts and a close proximity to a portion of the restored wall of the Gubeikou Great Wall. You will feel incredibly at home with the family who runs the facility. She even arranged a driver for us to pick us up from our hotel in Beijing. The house lady speaks good English and in comparison to many other places, communication works great. You can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner on site. The food is delicious and freshly prepared from their own garden. Each day, there is plenty of choice, and the price is reasonable, especially for what you get. The rooms are simple, but I found the mattress more comfortable than other home stays I've ever had. The shower has hot water and an aircorn in the room. There is no kettle. WiFi is available and works perfectly throughout the entire property. The accommodation is less than a 10-minute walk from the wall entrance. You must pay 25 yuan rp, and the ticket is valid for two days to access the wall. The old village of gubeikou is an attractive little town, approximately an hour walk from the main road. It can also be reached by using the great wall, just follow it to your left. Additionally, if you follow the wall to the left in less than two hours, you will reach a military base

My husband and I were searching for a more remote section of the great wall to hike and wanted to stay nearby the wall rather than taking a tourist bus for a day trip. This was exactly what we had hoped for and more! They arranged transportation for us to and from Beijing at a reasonable cost. It is a very comfortable place to stay, and even though the bed was firm, it was the best night's sleep I've ever had during my trip. We had breakfast and dinner at the inn and he packed us lunch to carry on our great wall hike. The food is delicious! They offered a variety of meat and vegetable dishes at dinner, each of which was excellent. The restored section of the wall is just up the road and a 20-minute walk away, and you are standing on a tower of the great wall. Our second morning, they drove us to the Jinshanling section, and we hiked back to the inn. It took around seven hours, five, if you didn't take as many photos as we did! I highly recommend this inn, the owner speaks great English and her family are friendly and welcoming. One day, we will return for another stay!.

During my stay, Angela took excellent care of me. It was rather nerve-racking to arrive in Gubeikou town at night because I was traveling alone for the first time in China and it was dark when I arrived. The host and driver were excellent, but the room was simple, clean bed, has a shower toilet allison type of situation, but it did the job. You can request your meals throughout the day and they will cook for you. Breakfast was my favorite, and the prices for lunch and dinner climbed from there. The greatest part is that you don't need any transportation from this location to reach the great wall. Go for 25-30 minutes through trees to reach the great wall. Walk for about 5 hours to Jinshanling, and end there! You will need transportation back home from Jinshanling! A great experience for a solo traveler.
