A brief visit to Koyasan gave me the chance to spend one night here in October 2018 with a friend because we wanted to experience staying at a Buddhist monastery. The rooms layout was fantastic, and the room opens to an inner courtyard garden. The Vegetarian Japanese supper and brunch were provided, and it was a lovely feast that was more satisfying than I had anticipated. Check-out is between 3 and 5 p. M., but early arrivals may leave their baggage in the office lobby. They graciously kept our luggage for us until we were ready to depart. The roman was in a central location, which was important to us because it was just a short stroll from all the city's attractions. Lunch is served at 530 p. M., breakfast is served at 550, and the morning buddhist service is served at 550. Although staying here wasn't a cheap solution, the entire experience was excellent, and we truly got the most value for our money. I heartily endorse this temple, and I would return to this location.4.6/526 Feb 2022

We visited the early morning service with the monks and found it a very interesting and meditative calming way to start the day. The room doesn't have a window because it is built in a traditional Japanese style, the rooms are off the hallway and the windows all face the hallway, so if you want a view go into the hallway and the views are all beautiful gardens. Breakfast was quite different and scrumptious from the prior night. Certainly, the rooms is unique and in tune with the ancient Japanese time, as this is not a typical tourist experience and hasn't had the usual amenities. The hotel is far from the hotel's newest luxury. We experienced a cold January morning while there, and it was chilly. Our legs and feet were kept warm during nonsleeping because the kerosene heater warmed the area, while the heavy blanket and second blanket on the futon made sleeping nice and warm. The bath was a delight, and the restroom was delicious. Although it appeared there weren't many monks residing here, we really loved what life was like in the upper class in the century. And the cuisine, my word, is that there was a lot to eat, and the meals are all vegan, and it is all delicious, and there was plenty. Soba noodles and another soup, a sesam4.4/516 Apr 2023

The restaurant was so hospitable and welcoming. I didn't mind because we usually went outside during the day. Despite not being particularly warm, the personnel was also efficient and amiable. We chose a room with a really modern private bathroom because we were fortunate to have chosen a room that had a central gas heater. The vegetarian dinner was so rich and wonderful. We only had a small room for resting and reading a book, which was unheated. The only negative thing about this place was the cold tempura. The room was not even open from the corridors inside but had open all the windows facing the courtyard, so there was no view. The breakfast was so wonderful and delicious, and the location was so close to the city center. We hiked some mountains to get some stunning views when we arrived. Because we are in the city to experience a lot of hardship when we arrived, we were fortunate to discover a rare fog which descended from the top as we walked up, eventually a part of it, making it seem less spiritual and giving it a bad impression. As for the breakfast ritual, we were not particularly interested in the offerings offered. We looked around at the end of November, arriving directly from the seasonal tourist bus from start info on human travel and discovered Koyasan to be much colder about 3 degrees Celsius than the rest of the4.4/525 Oct 2022

I spent two nights there, which was an excellent location and is conveniently located. Next time we would reserve a room with a window, we felt locked because our room was windowless. You can't really sleep in your room without having supper and bedroom at the same time, and you can't sit anywhere. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The morning Buddhist festival was a maniacal and completely tourist spectacle. The atmosphere in the monastery was awful. But, I'm not sure you get that anywhere else in Koyasan. A must-visit the infamous graveyard forest for a truly unforgettable experience.4.2/529 Jul 2022

We spent a night there because we wanted to spend the night at Koyasan's Buddhist temple during our trip in Japan. And we had an amazing stay. The temple is stunning with a number of lovely gardens, and the room we had was quite tidy, roomy, and cozy. We wore yukatas, experienced their awesome beginning, and had delectable vegetarian and wonderful supper and brunch. Everyone was just so nice and always willing to make us feel at home. We also participated in the morning ceremony, which is mandatory, and the prayer room's lanterns are amazing. It might be a little regret that I would have liked to learn more about the temple itself, the differences between each of the temples in Koyasan, their practices, and so on. We had a brief English speaking introduction during the prayer ceremony, though. The quality of the experience did not diminish.Location
